Description

“We bought this house because of its location and easy access to the M4. It’s a beautiful home for entertaining, but there are so many smaller, cosy rooms that work perfectly for just my husband and I. Most people say the orangery is their favourite spot, but I love our lounge, especially when the fire’s lit at Christmas.”

If you’ve been waiting for something to come along that stands out from the rest, this six-bedroom home in Purton might just be the one for you.

They say that first impressions count, and that couldn’t be more true when it comes to Tara House. With beautiful blue balconies, gridded windows and a cream exterior, it’s easy to forget that you’re in England.

Step inside and you’re met with a generous entryway. Statement black and white checkerboard floor tiling leads the way to the different reception areas (there are seven, by the way).

On the right you’ll find the kitchen. Made by Mark Wilkinson, there are traditional cream storage cupboards, black worktops and a matching island help. It creates a space that's calm and peaceful. Whether you’re a chef or someone who prefers to do the tasting, you have everything you need to cook up your favourites. Full length windows allow for plenty of natural light, giving you a dreamy spot for that morning coffee. There’s easy access to the utility to keep things nice and practical.

Let’s talk about the living area. A generous space that feels cosy and comfortable, with a full surround feature fireplace. We can see lots of time being spent here, whether that's for a big family Christmas or with a book at the end of a long day.

The orangery has been beautifully designed by the current owners to create a huge space for hosting. With plenty of room for both a dining table and living area, it not only adds plenty of floor space, but an area that feels more modern whilst completely in keeping with the traditional character of the home. There’s underfloor heating to keep your toes toasty, and the exposed Cotswold stone walls are surrounded by windows and skylights, giving views over the incredible garden.

We can’t not give a mention to the sitting room, currently being used as a formal dining room. With a feature marble fireplace stealing the show, it’s a cosy spot for an after dinner tipple. It leads into a library/study that’s ideal for curling up with your favourite read. A conservatory is currently being used as an office space, but it’s ready to become whatever suits your life best.

There’s a downstairs loo to keep things simple.

The first floor holds three double bedrooms, each with built-in storage so there's no arguing over hanger space. Every room has access to either an ensuite or Jack and Jill bathroom, plus there's a family bathroom too. Two of them have claw foot baths, a roll top and a hip bath, which gives the whole floor a bit of a boutique hotel feel.

The second floor is home to the final three bedrooms. Exposed beams and eaves storage feature throughout. The third is currently being used as a walk-in wardrobe with an ensuite that has a standalone shower.

At the back of the home, no compromises have been made. A 19th century English garden with way over an acre of land. Perfectly kept lawn, mature planting, patio tiling for all your garden furniture and lots of little nooks to be enjoyed throughout. With sun all day long, you can really make the most of the longer days here.

For those of you who like to indulge in a daily dose of exercise, a private at home gym is the perfect match for you. With such a beautiful backdrop and bifold doors, it’s hard not to be motivated here.

There’s a garage, workshop and storage space for all of your home projects, and driveway parking with plenty of room for the whole family.

In terms of location you’re in a peachy place with easy access to the M4 with locations like the Cotswolds and Marlborough just a short drive away.

A stunning home with so much potential. Peachy.
