Description
Located in the highly desirable village of Cheriton, this is a charming and spacious four bedroom semi-detached cottage set within beautiful gardens.
The property is approached via a gravel footpath with a pretty landscaped front garden. The entrance hall leads to the dual aspect sitting room to the right, with wood burning stove and fitted shelving and storage. To the left is the kitchen/breakfast room, with shaker style units, an island unit and the room also benefits from a wood burning stove - lovely and cosy for winter evenings. To the rear of the house is a utility room and downstairs cloakroom.
Upstairs, the spacious landing leads to three really good sized double bedrooms, and one large single bedroom as well as a family bathroom and separate shower.
A real feature of this property is the stunning gardens, wrapping around three sides of the property. Landscaped and planted by the current owners, the garden has the River Itchen running through towards the rear, and a bridge over the river leads to the garage which was once the village bakery. This has huge potential to convert to a workshop or studio. There is a further outdoor office/summerhouse and the garden is planted with roses, shrubs and flowering plants which are an absolute delight.
To the rear of the property is access to the garage and a gravelled parking area and there is also an allocated parking space at the front of the house.
Alresford is a beautiful Georgian town known for its variety of independent shops, restaurants and inns located in stunning surroundings on the edge of the South Downs National Park. Attractions include the Watercress steam railway, schools for infant, junior and secondary education, several churches and an active and inclusive community. The cathedral city of Winchester is about 7 miles away and there is easy access to the south coast, the midlands and London via the road network. There is also mainline rail access to London from both Winchester and Alton. Southampton airport is only about half an hour away by car.
