Description

When you're looking at one-bedroom apartments, it can mean one of two things - you're getting your first place or you're downsizing. The joy of Aylesby Court is that it attracts both ends of the spectrum, creating a unique community feel within the block, along with Tealby Court. It's easy to see why because you're a short walk from all the action, but you're also getting a truly spacious one-bedroom apartment that never feels poky due to the huge amount of natural light the windows draw in.

Talking of the location, this is the M21 dream. Situated on Wilbraham Road, the purpose-built block is a short stroll from the bars, restaurants and shops that make Chorlton famous, such as Duffy's Bar, Brewski and The Thirsty Korean. Beech Road and Chorlton Green are only a 15-minute walk away as well. You're also perfectly positioned to enjoy all that Whalley Range has to offer, including Alexandra Park. The highlight for young commuters has to be that you have two Metrolink stops less than a 10-minute walk away, while bus routes are also excellent in Chorlton. Similar to Aylesby Court, the wider Chorlton community is what draws people in as much as the amenities, and there are plenty of examples of that, from Unicorn Grocery to the sporting hubs. Finishing off with those green spaces, it's not just the roads that are tree-lined – there is plenty of open space to explore, including the Nature Reserve and Water Park. It's no surprise that Chorlton regularly tops the lists of the most desirable places to live in Manchester.

Back to the apartment. As mentioned, this one is on the top floor of a purpose-built block, with a corner position meaning you've only got neighbours on one side. The flat itself has garden views and has been the ideal first purchase for the current vendor.

You can access the apartment either from the secure car park off White Moss Avenue or from Wilbraham Road. The block is made up of 12 apartments. Going up the stairs to the top floor, you enter the property via a small hallway, perfect for hanging coats or storing shoes. This hallway leads into the large living room, and the first thing you'll notice is the enormous window, which floods the space with natural light. There is more than enough room here for a sofa, TV and dining table, or even a home office setup. You'll never feel cramped in this room.

Off the living room is access to the bedroom, bathroom and separate kitchen. This is where the apartment comes into its own because, while open-plan living may seem like the dream, most buyers still crave the separation of a dedicated cooking space. What makes this kitchen even better is that there is space for a small dining table, allowing guests to sit and chat while you cook up a storm or mix cocktails at the housewarming. Having space for a dining table here also allows you to fully utilise the living room and maximise the available space.

The bedroom is a generous double and, with the built-in storage, you can save space on wardrobes, although there is room to add fitted wardrobes if desired. The bathroom comprises a bath with a shower over it, alongside the toilet and sink.

Externally, the grounds are beautifully maintained and, in the summer, it's not uncommon to see the lawns filled with residents relaxing in the sun. There is also a residents' car park to the rear.

If you could see this being your first home or your downsize, don't hesitate to call straight away and quote GY0737.

Vendor's favourite features: “This was my first home, and I genuinely couldn't have asked for a better place to start. I loved how bright and open the apartment felt from the day I moved in. The large living room window has been one of my favourite features, looking out towards the trees and gardens and bringing in natural light throughout the day and into the evening.

The neighbours have been great. Everyone is friendly, considerate and helpful, whether that's taking in parcels or giving the flowers an extra water. The block is quiet, and there's a good sense of community without it ever feeling intrusive.

Practically, it's also been a very easy place to live. I've never had an issue finding a secure parking space, and there's also a communal bicycle shed. The apartment has fibre broadband, and the bills have been relatively low throughout my time here.

The location is perfect. You can walk to the supermarket, catch a tram or cycle into the city centre. It’s also well placed for a trip to the Peak District, the Lake District or the coast.

I'll really miss living here, it's been a very happy home! But I'm relocating north, which is the only reason I'm moving. I hope the next owner enjoys living here as much as I have.”
