The town of Ayr is around six miles distant and provides a morecomprehensive range of amenities including supermarket and retail shopping and both primary and secondary schooling.

The area is home to some of the world's finest golf courses, such as Turnberry, Royal Troon and Western Gailes and boasts excellent sailing facilities on the Clyde coastline. For the commuter there are road links to Glasgow and a mainline rail link from Ayr to Glasgow. Prestwick and Glasgow airports are approximately a 17 and 55 minute drive away, respectively.
