Description

Positioned within easy reach of Ramsgate's thriving seafront, railway station and local amenities, this charming Grade II Listed two bedroom period home offers an appealing blend of character, convenience and coastal living. Perfectly suited to commuters, those seeking a weekend retreat or buyers looking to enjoy everything this vibrant seaside town has to offer, the property combines period charm with a highly accessible location.

Stepping inside, you are immediately welcomed by a wealth of original character, with features that reflect the property's heritage and create a warm, inviting atmosphere throughout. The cosy lounge centres around a beautiful open fireplace, providing the perfect setting for relaxing evenings, whilst the impressive kitchen has been thoughtfully designed with both style and functionality in mind. Finished to a high specification, it incorporates quality Miele appliances alongside elegant granite worktops, a marble splashback, bespoke birch plywood cabinetry and carefully selected brass fittings. Offering ample space for cooking, dining and entertaining, it is a room that forms the heart of the home.

Further practical benefits include a useful cellar, ideal for storage, alongside well proportioned accommodation arranged over the upper floors.

Outside, the property continues to impress with a substantial walled rear garden. Offering a high degree of privacy, the garden features a patio area for outdoor dining alongside mature planting that creates a wonderfully established and tranquil setting. To the rear, a dedicated allotment area provides the perfect opportunity for keen gardeners to grow their own fruit, vegetables or flowers, adding further appeal to this versatile outdoor space. Whether enjoying a morning coffee, summer entertaining or simply unwinding after a day at work, the garden is a true extension of the home.

For commuters, Ramsgate railway station is within easy reach, providing high speed services to London, whilst the nearby Loop bus route offers excellent local transport links. Families will also appreciate the property's position within the catchment area of well regarded local schools. Local shops, Ellington Park and the Western Esplanade are all just a short stroll away, allowing residents to enjoy the very best of Ramsgate's coastal lifestyle.

The adjoining former public house was sympathetically converted into residential accommodation a number of years ago and now sits comfortably within the surrounding residential area. As such, buyers can enjoy the character of the historic building without the activity typically associated with a working public house.

A wonderful opportunity to acquire a character filled coastal home that offers the best of both worlds, period charm, generous outside space, a productive garden and excellent commuter connections, all within easy reach of Ramsgate's seafront and everyday amenities.

Location Summary

Ramsgate is situated on the southerly aspect of the Isle of Thanet and benefits the country’s only Royal Harbour, its status being granted by King George IV in 1821. The distinctive and beautiful harbour has a vibrant yachting community alongside some commercial activity and was where the Little Ships evacuation of Dunkirk set out from in 1940. The town is enjoying something of a Renaissance with its large amount of Grade II Listed property, many set within elegant Regency squares, or overlooking the sea, others with links to or influenced by the architect Augustus Pugin. In recent years the Royal Harbour has seen many restaurants, cafes and bars emerge alongside quirky independent retail outlets, some utilising the arches on the quayside beneath Royal Parade. The town is steeped in history with associations to many well known figures including Queen Victoria , Karl Marx and Vincent Van Gogh as well as having a fascinating network of tunnels beneath the main centre. The fortunes of the town have been hugely assisted by the recent addition of a high speed rail link to London St Pancras making a commute for many a viable option.
