United Kingdom Warning and Monitoring Organisation (UKWMO) Royal Observer Corps Post (ROC) Post. The bunker was designed to accommodate three people for two weeks. It has an underground monitoring room and a chemical toilet. All surface features remain intact with some flaking of the khaki paint. The unit is padlocked and secured. Title Number: ABN97934. Internally the post is very neat and tidy with many items remaining including WB1401 carrier receiver with WB1410 filter unit, Tele-talk, tool board, small wall mounted shelf, mirror, visitors log, various papers, ROC magazines, fire blanket in its box, dustpan, original canvas folding chair, FSM probe gasket, candle holder, light/wiring, BT junction boxes/wiring, BPI mount, posters, kettle, saucepan, washing bowl, cleaning materials, fuse box/wiring, net, pick axe, newspaper cutting about the post. On the wall the crew have written â??Stand Down - Best Post 29 Groupâ??. There is a wooden sign that says â??47 Post Alfordâ??. Some items from the post have been donated to the Alford Heritage Centre where they have an ROC Room with artifacts from other local posts and Aberdeen Group HQ.
