Description

Occupying an idyllic rural setting with far reaching views across rolling Devon countryside towards Dartmoor, Hill Barn is a beautifully appointed stone barn conversion offering stylish contemporary living, exceptional outside space and an adjoining paddock extending to approximately 0.36 acres.

Originally dating back to the 19th century, this handsome stone barn was thoughtfully converted successfully combining the character and integrity of the original building with the comforts and efficiencies of modern living. Beautifully presented throughout, the property enjoys an abundance of natural light, well-proportioned accommodation and uninterrupted countryside views that create an immediate sense of peace and tranquillity.

The front door opens into an inviting entrance hall with staircase rising to the first floor and access to the cloakroom and principal reception spaces. At the heart of the home is the impressive kitchen, family room, thoughtfully designed with a comprehensive range of contemporary wall and base units, integrated appliances and generous work surfaces. The room boasts an island with ample storage space creating an ideal environment for both family life and entertaining, while elegant tiled flooring enhances the sense of quality throughout.

The sitting room is a particularly attractive feature of the home, enjoying a dual aspect that frames the surrounding countryside and allows natural light to flood the space. A stylish wood burner provides a welcoming focal point, while double doors open directly onto the terrace, seamlessly connecting the indoor and outdoor living spaces.

Arranged across the first floor are three comfortable double bedrooms. The principal suite benefits from a dual aspect and enjoys breath taking views across the adjoining paddock towards Dartmoor, together with the advantage of a contemporary en suite shower room. Two further double bedrooms are served by the family bathroom, fitted with a bath and shower over, wash hand basin and WC. Velux windows to the additional bedrooms and bathroom ensure these spaces remain bright and inviting. There is a handy storage cupboard situated on this floor.

The outside space is a particular highlight of the property. The west-facing garden has been recently and beautifully landscaped to create a series of thoughtfully designed areas that can be enjoyed throughout the day and across the seasons. A generous patio provides the perfect setting for al fresco dining and entertaining, while a seating area offers an ideal vantage point from which to admire the spectacular sunsets and far-reaching views towards Dartmoor. Well-stocked flower bed borders introduce colour, texture and seasonal interest, complementing the surrounding rural landscape and creating a private and tranquil retreat.

Beyond the garden, a gate provides access across the privately owned lane to the adjoining paddock, which extends to approximately 0.36 acres. Offering a wealth of possibilities, whether for recreational use, gardening enthusiasts or those simply seeking additional outdoor space with a large garden shed. A second gate at the far end provides direct access onto North Hill Lane and the network of nearby countryside walks.
