Description

Fir Tree Mount enjoys a lovely position on the very southern edge of the picturesque village of Perry Green. In the centre of Perry Green is the internationally renowned Henry Moore Foundation and also a local pub and restaurant, which has very recently been refurbished.

Surrounding the village, there is gently undulating countryside, woodland, fields, and pasture. The house is approximately one mile from the much better known village of Much Hadham which has a surprisingly good range of great recreational, educational and shopping facilities.

Fir Tree Mount is approached along a country lane and reached through a newly installed remote controlled security gate, which then leads to a driveway with enough parking for almost any household. To the right of the driveway, is the former garage which is now a useful home office.

The accommodation is generous, particularly on the ground floor, and there is a total of 2,400 sq. ft. This includes a good entrance hallway, cloakroom, return staircase to the first floor and a door off to the drawing room which is a bright dual aspect room with wood flooring. The room has a wood burner and doors to the rear garden. Off the hallway there is a door to a study and also a door off to an excellent kitchen/breakfast room. The kitchen/breakfast room is well equipped with a large range of bespoke wall and base storage units with a central island with granite work surfaces, and integrated appliances. This room opens up to the conservatory/summer room which in turn has doors out to the garden. From the kitchen there is a separate lobby and utility room as well as a lovely guest room with doors out to a terrace and an adjoining shower room.

On the first floor, the principal bedroom has an ensuite bathroom which has been refurbished to a high standard and the room also has built in wardrobe cupboards and some far reaching views. There are two further rooms and a family shower room.

The grounds are very much a feature and are well established with colour and interest throughout the year and a vegetable garden and greenhouse and various useful storage sheds. Beyond the formal gardens there is a lawn and an orchard and, at the rear of the garden, an enclosed vegetable area.

Within the grounds, the former swimming pool has been filled in, and this is a good timber frame building with cloakroom and would provide an excellent gym and is probably a sufficient size to provide a gym and an office. With the relevant consent, the building could provide additional accommodation.

Perry Green is a small Hertfordshire village with its internationally known Henry Moore Foundation. The village lies close to the larger popular and well-known Much Hadham, which has a local store, garage, fire station, recreation ground, public houses and primary school. The area is convenient for the commuter, lying almost equidistant between the A10 and M11. The towns of Bishops Stortford and Ware lie approximately 6 miles and 8 miles away respectively and provide a more comprehensive range of facilities. Both have mainline stations to London Liverpool Street. There are two golf courses within 2 miles of the village.
