There is a spot in Pian di Feccia where the Frelle flows into the river. It was there that the only documented mill on the Feccia operated for over a century: mentioned in dozens of deeds between 1232 and 1283, it passed, piece by piece, to the monks of San Galgano, until it became part of the Valloria grangia. In 1318, the abbey owned vineyards, six houses and a mill with two millstones there.

That mill is still here. And so is the water that powered it: in the historic kitchen, a glass panel in the floor offers a view of the well, right beneath your feet.

The main house is spread over two floors.
On the ground floor: a historic kitchen, a light-filled dining room with exposed beams, two bathrooms, a spacious living room with an antique fireplace, and a bedroom with a study.
On the first floor: three bedrooms, a living room, a bathroom and a mezzanine serving as a reading nook.

The mill, which has been renovated, now houses a small self-contained flat — bedroom, bathroom, kitchen. Ideal for guests or for running a guesthouse.

In the garden, alongside the mill, there is a deconsecrated chapel and a fountain. All is bordered by the stream, nestled amidst the greenery of the Val di Merse.

San Galgano and the Hermitage of Montesiepi — the sword in the stone — are just a few kilometres away. Siena is about thirty minutes’ drive away. Frosini Castle, formerly owned by the Counts of Gherardesca and once a Templar stronghold, overlooks the valley just above.

It is not a magazine-style villa. It is a small complex — house, mill, church, water and land — with eight centuries of documented history.
