Seller Insights
"We've loved living at The Old Coach House, surrounded by such beautiful countryside. It's an incredibly peaceful place to call home. We spend a great deal of time in the open-plan living and dining space – it's the true heart of the home and a wonderful place all year round. The garden enjoys the afternoon and evening sun, and the sunsets from the living room are spectacular. Looking out across the pond towards the paddock, it's not unusual to see kingfishers, dragonflies, roe and muntjac deer, while barn owls have even raised chicks in the garden.
When we moved in, the house offered us the flexibility we needed for multi-generational living. That’s why we created the one-bedroom annexe. It’s a very adaptable, self-contained space with a separate entrance. So, the annexe could equally serve as a holiday let, subject to the necessary consents.
The house has a fascinating history. Originally part of the farm buildings serving the former Bloxholm Hall, which was demolished many years ago, it was once the estate's coach house, and you can still see the original entrance where horses and carriages would have passed through. The spectacular oak-framed living and dining extension was added in 2004.
The gardens are spectacular in spring and summer. We've spent a great deal of time creating a series of different spaces, from the secluded secret garden to the woodland walk, each offering a peaceful place to sit with a book, enjoy the wildlife or simply soak up the surroundings.
There are beautiful walks in every direction, with footpaths leading to Dorrington and Digby, while Ruskington, less than three miles away, provides all the everyday amenities you need. Lincoln is also a very interesting city.
Leaving The Old Coach House will be incredibly difficult. It's a truly special place, and we've loved every moment here. We're sure the next owners will enjoy living here just as much as we have."
