Description
Description
Orchard House is an attractive detached property designed by Cirencester Architects ALP and built in 2002 using Cotswold stone. Generous proportions and ceiling heights with sizeable windows allow natural light to pervade throughout. The setting, tucked away at the end of a gravel drive, provides an appreciable degree of privacy for a property close to the heart of the village. The house benefits from far reaching views over the south-west facing garden and open countryside beyond.
The current owners have undertaken improvement works to include replacement double glazed windows and doors; replacement island unit, Everhot range, electrical consumer unit and redecoration throughout.
Spacious reception hall is partly open plan to the dining room and has doors leading off to the drawing room, study and cloakroom. Kitchen/breakfast room beyond the dining room has durable Corian worksurfaces, built in floor and wall units with built in Neff dishwasher, electric Everhot kitchen range, auxiliary oven and four ring hob and island unit. French windows lead out onto the garden terrace for alfresco dining. The separate utility offers plenty of additional cupboards, a Belfast sink and space for washing machine and tumble dryer. A door leads through to the single garage/boiler room ideal for storage.
The drawing room has an open fireplace and benefits from generous ceiling height and double aspect windows with French windows leading out onto the south- west facing terrace taking advantage of the stunning views. The study could also be used as a family games room or home office.
Upstairs, two of the bedrooms enjoy fine views extending as far as Wyck Hill (about 10 miles). The principal bedroom suite has a dressing room with generous built-in cupboards plus an en suite bathroom. There are three further generous bedrooms with built-in wardrobes, one with an en suite shower room, the other two sharing a family bathroom.
Outside, the property is approached via a private (partly shared) gravel drive with parking for several cars. There is access to the rear garden through a pedestrian gate, past a timber garden store/workshop. Privacy in the garden is enhanced by borders of shrubs and perennials which are backed by mature trees and sheltered by close-boarded fencing together with a mature beech hedge.
This contemporary home offers generous proportions, private setting, lovely rural views and mature gardens.
