Description

Cefn Gorwydd is a rural hamlet located just two miles from 'Britain's Smallest Town', Llanwrtyd Wells on the River Irfon. Llanwrtyd Wells is one of the smallest towns in Mid-Wales, sitting astride the River Irfon. With a population of approximately 850, it famously claims to be the smallest town in Britain. The town is located on the A483 between Llandovery and Builth Wells near the Tywi and Irfon valleys. Llanwrtyd Wells grew as a spa town around the Ffynnon Ddrewllyd, which still exists, following the discovery of waters with healing properties in 1732. The town is the site of both the World Bog Snorkelling Championships and the annual Man versus Horse Marathon, as well as other annual events. The market town of Builth Wells, located at the heart of Powys, is just 13 miles away in what is arguably some of the most beautiful countryside in the United Kingdom. Builth Wells lies within the Historic Boundaries of Brecknockshire, situated on the banks of the River Wye and the River Irfon – The upper section of the Wye Valley. Builth Wells is famously known for hosting the annual Royal Welsh Show, which is the biggest agricultural show in Europe and attracts over 240,000 visitors to the town each year.

A lovely Welsh Cottage set in some of the most glorious scenery around. In the heart of the rural hamlet of Cefn Gorwydd, this lovely two-bedroom character property enjoys a multi-fuel stove in the reception room, modern kitchen and bathroom, but has kept the charm and character you would expect to find. This delightful country cottage is approached from the centre of Cefn Gorwydd via a pedestrian walkway over the front garden which leads up to the enclosed porch. The porch then opens into a lovely L-shaped reception room, enjoying a multi-fuel stove inset into a character brick fireplace. An opening from the reception room leads into the modern fitted kitchen, having a useful understairs storage. An opening from here leads on to the dining area, large storage cupboard with views over the rear garden. On the first floor, there are two good-sized bedrooms, both enjoying rooflights to flood the rooms with natural light. The modern shower room is also found on the first floor, with a suite of large walk-in shower, low flush WC and pedestal wash hand basin. A large airing cupboard is accessed from the shower room. Externally, to the front of the property is a parking space, and the front garden is well-stocked offering privacy. The rear garden is of low maintenance, being paved, and enjoys some striking views over the adjoining farmland to the rear.
