Carefully improved by the current owners, the property combines original character with stylish, practical spaces designed for modern family life.

The ground floor begins with an impressive 22ft bay-fronted reception room, offering generous space for relaxing and entertaining. Restored original floorboards, window shutters and character detailing give the room a warm, individual feel.

To the rear is a substantial 21ft kitchen and dining space, creating a sociable heart to the home. Generous worktop and storage space are complemented by room for family dining, while rooflights and garden access bring in excellent natural light and create an easy connection with the outside space.

Across the first and second floors are four well-proportioned bedrooms, giving families excellent flexibility for children, guests or home working. The principal bedroom is particularly generous and benefits from bespoke fitted wardrobes. A family bathroom and additional shower room serve the upper floors, making the layout particularly practical for a busy household.

The rear garden has recently been completely redesigned and landscaped, providing an attractive balance of lawn, planting and space for outdoor dining. It offers a peaceful setting for entertaining, children’s play or simply relaxing at the end of the day.

Location – Forest Gate, E7

St John’s Terrace is positioned within one of Forest Gate’s most desirable and community-focused residential pockets. The area has become especially popular with families and professionals seeking period homes, green surroundings and quick connections into Central London.

Both Forest Gate Station, served by the Elizabeth line, and Wanstead Park Overground Station are within walking distance. Nearby Wanstead Flats and West Ham Park provide extensive green space, playgrounds, tennis facilities and walking routes.

Forest Gate is also known for its thriving independent scene, with popular local cafés, bakeries, restaurants and pubs including The Forest Tavern, The Holly Tree, Pretty Decent Taproom, Gio’s, Ramble, Wild Goose Bakery and Lavi. Fitness and family-friendly venues such as E7 Movement, The Reformery Pilates and Pint-Sized Playhouse further add to the neighbourhood’s strong lifestyle appeal.

This is a characterful and carefully improved family home offering excellent space, a beautifully landscaped garden and a genuinely special Forest Gate setting.

Owner’s Comment

“We moved here as a couple and this became our first family home, holding so many wonderful memories for us. What we will miss most is the incredible sense of community, the independent cafés, pubs and restaurants, and having Wanstead Flats and West Ham Park just a short walk away.

We have lovingly improved the house by restoring the original floorboards, adding shutters and blinds, installing bespoke fitted wardrobes, redecorating throughout and completely redesigning and landscaping the garden to create a lovely space for relaxing and entertaining.

Forest Gate and Wanstead Park stations are both within easy walking distance, so the house offers quick access into Central London while still feeling surrounded by greenery and community. We are only moving to be closer to family as our own family grows, and hope the next owners love the house and area as much as we have.”
