• There are a number of Countryside Walks from Earith village including RSPB sites - turn

left out the property approx. 50 yds on your left is a public footpath to Bury Fen riverside

walk which is part of the Ouse Valley Way 42-mile footpath. Many parts of the Ouse Valley

Way are split into smaller circular walks which can be accessed from Bury Fen. The

riverbank walk will take you to the market town of St. Ives. Various other country walks

along public footpaths & bridal ways will take you to the neighbouring villages of Colne,

Bluntisham, Somersham, & Needingworth. The short drive to St. Ives gives the opportunity

to explore further walks along the river to the villages of the Hemingfords, Houghton,

(National Trust site) Godmanchester, & Huntingdon. The walks are ideal for walkers of all

ages with beautiful scenery & wildlife, along the way, and at least one pub in every village

serving food. You can also access additional walks around the village via the local

• If cruising on the river turn left onto the river Ouse from the Waterhaven this will take you

to Cambridge or Ely, and as far as the Wash at Kings Lynn. If you turn right this will take

you to Bedford cruising through Needingworth, St.Ives, Hemingford St Neots, and the

Offords, each all have beautiful riverside spots to picnic, or visit the local pubs.

• The market town of St.Ives is approx. 4 miles to the west of Earith. The town holds a

weekly market on a Monday and Friday, with a farmers market held on the first and third

Saturday of the month. The town also offers a variety of restaurants, cafes, & pubs, some

with music each week. The Ivo leisure centre One Leisure offers a host of sporting

activities including a fitness, centre, fitness classes, swimming pool plus a host of other

activities.

• St Ives has a park and ride service into Cambridge which run very frequently. Train

stations can be found in both Ely and Huntingdon with the latter providing a fast and

regular service into St Pancras in approximately one hour. By car, Cambridge can also be

accessed in just over half an hour.

• Local main supermarkets are in St Ives, on the outskirts are Morrisons and Aldi, Waitrose

is in the town centre. There is also a Co-op and a small Tesco Express, and M&S food at

the BP garage. There are also Tesco and Sainsbury Superstores in Huntingdon (10 miles)

along with a M&S foodhall. Huntingdon also offers a multiplex cinema and other various

restaurants, cafes, and shops.
