The property is on the edge of thel hamlet of Preston St Mary, which is set in the Suffolk countryside of the Brett Valley and consist of a small group of houses, a church and public house. Lavenham (1.5 miles) to the east is believed to be England’s finest mediaeval wool town and offers excellent every day shopping facilities. Ipswich (18 miles), Sudbury (9 miles), Bury St Edmunds (12 miles) and Stowmarket (21 miles) all have a much wider range of shopping, educational and recreational facilities. From Ipswich take the A1071 bypassing Hintlesham on the Hadleigh bypass turn right signposted Lavenham onto the A1141. Bear left still on the A1141 towards Lavenham and proceed in to the village of Monks Eleigh. Where the road bears sharply to the left proceed straight on signposted Kettlebaston. Continue until a give way and turn left towards Preston St Mary. Proceed through the village at the give way turn left and Rise Farm will be seen on the left hand side after about one mile.
