The nearby village of Aultbea lies on the west shore of the loch and has a good range of amenities including a village shop, doctor’s surgery, garage and a hotel and bar. There is a primary school at Bualnaluib, less than one mile from The Corran, and secondary schooling is in Gairloch about 14 miles away and for which there is a free bus service. Further shops and amenities are available in Poolewe, Gairloch, Ullapool and Dingwall, with Inverness some 75 miles distant having all the facilities of a major city, including its airport with regular flights to the south and Europe.

Description – Lot 1
A charming, de-crofted, two-bedroom bungalow set in an enviable position within the crofting village of Ormiscaig, on the north shore of Loch Ewe. The property enjoys far-reaching views across the sea loch, to Isle Ewe and the distant Torridon Hills. Purchased in 2022, the current owner has undertaken an extensive programme of improvements enhancing the property’s energy efficiency. These works include the installation of an air source heat pump, replacement of the boiler and radiators, and the addition of eight roof-mounted solar photovoltaic panels for electricity generation. Furthermore, the insulation throughout the property has been upgraded to improve overall thermal performance. New window openings were made to maximise natural light and fully capture the stunning outlook, and a new kitchen has also been fitted. The garden ground adjacent to the property has been de-crofted and is surrounded by the owner-occupied croft land, offering a peaceful and private setting.

Furthermore, full planning permission was granted in November 2023 for the siting of a mobile, short-term holiday let unit on an area of the croft to which electricity and water has been run. Details of this planning permission can found on the planning pages of the Highland Council web-site using the planning reference: 23/04203/FUL.

Description – Lot 2
The building plot, which has been de-crofted, lies within the croft to the north west of The Corran, and has spectacular views over Loch Ewe, to the Isle of Ewe. Planning permission in principle, reference no: 25/04098/PIP was granted on 20th March 2026 for the development of one property, either single storey or 1 1/2 storey in height. Access to the site is to be taken from the track to the neighbouring property, Solas. This access track is under the ownership of The Corran. The plot is unserviced although services are believed to be nearby, and drainage would be to the mains sewer which runs through the site.
It is important to note that offers for Lot 2 will not be considered until a successful offer has been received for Lot 1.
