Description
Description
Steeped in history, Little Barn was once part of the Little Easton Manor estate of the Countess of Warwick, a remarkable country estate renowned for its heritage and cultural legacy.
Constructed in the mid-16th Century, Little Barn is a luxuriously appointed Grade II Listed timber-framed house with rendered elevations under a peg-tiled roof. Set in mature grounds of just over 3 acres, the house offers spacious family accommodation over two floors with a wealth of period features, as well as a detached cottage, heated outdoor swimming pool with pool house and tennis court, situated on the edge of the popular village of Little Easton.
The property retains many period features, including exposed timber framing, original beams, leaded-light windows and brick fireplaces. The accommodation extends to approximately 2,744 sq ft in the main house and provides well-proportioned family living space arranged over two floors.
The ground floor includes three reception rooms, comprising a drawing room with a large fireplace and wood-burning stove, a dining room and a family room. The kitchen/breakfast room features a vaulted ceiling with exposed timbers and is complemented by a utility room and boot room.
On the first floor are four bedrooms and two bath/shower rooms, including a principal bedroom with dressing room and ensuite facilities.
Outside, the house is approached through automated gates and enjoys privacy. The gardens and grounds extend to just over 3 acres and include areas of lawn, mature trees and established planting as well as a large pond.
There is also a heated swimming pool with pool house and a disused tennis court.
In addition to the main house, there is a detached cottage providing useful ancillary accommodation and a detached double garage with a games room/studio above.

Little Easton is a hamlet just outside the historic market town of Great Dunmow with excellent transport links provided by the A120 westbound to London Stansted International Airport and Bishop's Stortford which provides a motorway link via the M11 Junction 8 and a main line station with connections to London Liverpool Street taking from 43 minutes.
The village centres around a traditional village green and pond and lies approximately 2 miles from the market town of Great Dunmow, which offers a good range of everyday shopping, restaurants, cafés and leisure facilities.
A number of well-regarded state and independent schools can be found in the area, including Felsted School, Bishop's Stortford College and Helena Romanes School.
The surrounding countryside offers a variety of outdoor pursuits, with numerous walking and riding routes nearby, whilst golf clubs, leisure facilities and country pubs can all be found within easy reach.
