Description
The Leys is a modern, detached bungalow that has been superbly updated and improved in recent years, creating a comfortable, energy-efficient home, with accommodation that maximises enjoyment of its superb position, with large windows over-looking the gardens and the field beyond. The current owners have made continual updates, including the installation of air conditioning to the bedroom.
The front door opens to a welcoming hall. Doors lead off to each of the principal rooms. The living room is a great size with plenty of light from the large windows that face the front garden and the French doors that open to the patio. The inset living flame gas fire is a cosy focal point.
The kitchen / dining room is another beautifully bright room with light coming in through the west-facing, bi-fold doors. The kitchen is fitted with an extensive range of wall and base units with Staron work surfaces and inset 1 1/2 bowl sink. The electric oven has a halogen hob fitted above and an extractor hood over that. There is a fridge and dishwasher built-in. The tiled floor extends into the breakfast area, where the bi-fold doors open to the patio and pergola, almost extending the accommodation on a fine day.
The useful utility room is adjacent and offers space and storage for the usual appliances.
The bedrooms are at the end of the hall. The main bedroom has a walk-through dressing room with plenty of built-in storage and space for a dressing table. The air-conditioned bedroom is through an arch.
The guest bedroom has a view over the rear garden. The en suite shower room is neatly concealed behind mirrored doors.
The third bedroom has a window to the front and benefits from a built-in wardrobe. This room could also make a useful study. The bathroom is fitted with a bath with shower above, a wash basin with vanity surfaces and a WC.
The Leys sits back from the road, behind a front lawn and extensive block-paved parking area. The garage is to one side. The gardens are a delight. The front lawn leads to the side of the bungalow where there is a small kitchen garden area. A path runs to the circular terrace and on to the main patio, set beneath the pergola, which has a sunshade for the hottest days.
The gently shaped and level lawn runs away from the bungalow and has well-stocked flower and shrub borders. A second, vine-covered pergola is set over a terrace at the far end of the garden, with a water feature adjacent. The summer house and greenhouse are to one side. A low hedge forms the rear boundary where there is a view over the adjoining meadow.
