Nice place to live with great property manager.
Nice white goods like dishwasher and fridge. Really large house. My children loved the garden and the communal garden. Nice friendly people. Regularly seen Mark and his colleague cleaning the site. It's a great place to live and I had no issues there.
Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
Large living space. Solar panels are a help. Kids liked the local school. Was sad to leave due to work and hope to come back one day. Mark was a great guy. Always very informative as I was new to the area. Made me and my family feel extremely welcome. If I ever had any issues he always had the answers.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Promptly. Any repairs are completed to a satisfactory manner.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
How nice the local community was. Some cars cut down the street as a shortcut.

Great in terms of design and other things but property manager is disappointing
Design is great. But some expects are no so good like door and door handle keep coming off looks like quality is not so great. Property manager doesn’t seem to reply or bothered at any occasion. Tried contacting him several times. As we are new to area and also new to housing system we always had a private landlord. It was bit of disappointment when your property manager doesn’t seem to reply at several occasions.
Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
Scholars view is great clean road and quite society but just outside is so great don’t have much of restaurants .
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Doesn’t seem to reply so stop texting him. Other than that online time really helped.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
If we knew every time if anything goes wrong we have fill a form on the app we won’t move here. We would prefer property manager should care.

I love my Home
The houses are beautiful well managed and if there is a problem, they sorted out super speedy! I’ve recommended even my friends to live in these houses as they are so beautiful and well kept. The only downside is that the walls are paper thin you can hear everything from your neighbours including them plugging things in shouting at children dogs barking you can hear them in the shower. It’s like you’re living with your neighbours sometimes
Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
I love where my house is! It’s on a beautiful park and I can see lovely trees and wildlife out of my window. A calm area where neighbours get along nicely. I’ve lived in a Place house houses for about eight years now. I wouldn’t live anywhere else but in a place, Placefirst.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
If there is any problems, I just enter them on the website and they come out at the next convenable space for me
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
The rent goes up every year. Which could possibly push people out. As people don’t tend to stay in these houses long.

Quiet, Safe and Convenient Living
I have enjoyed living at The Oaks over the past few months. The apartment is modern, well designed and comfortable, and the overall environment is clean and well maintained. The property management team has been friendly and helpful whenever I have needed assistance, and any issues I reported have been dealt with professionally.
While the facilities are fairly basic, they are generally well looked after. The main improvement I would like to see is more reasonably priced EV charging for residents, as the current charging cost is quite expensive compared with other public chargers nearby. Overall, I have had a positive experience living here and would recommend The Oaks to anyone looking for a quiet, safe and convenient place to live.
Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
The area is very quiet and feels safe, which makes it a pleasant place to live. There is a bus stop nearby with frequent services, and it only takes a short time to reach Durham city centre, making commuting very convenient. I have not experienced any anti-social behaviour, and traffic noise is generally low.
The only downside is the public EV charging point within the development. At around 60p per kWh, it is much more expensive than many other public chargers in the area and does not offer good value for residents with electric vehicles. It would be great if the charging price could be reduced in the future.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Whenever I have reported an issue or had a question, the management team has been helpful and professional. They responded within a reasonable time and kept me informed throughout the process. The issues I raised were resolved satisfactorily, and communication has generally been clear and efficient.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
I wish I had known that the on-site EV charging point costs around 60p per kWh, which is more expensive than many other public chargers in the area. If you own an electric vehicle, it is worth comparing charging options before relying on the charger within the development. Apart from that, I have found The Oaks to be a quiet, safe and enjoyable place to live.
