Description

Christopher’s South Hams are proud to market this much cherished, detached home set in this desirable moorland village

Description: - Currently arranged with 2 reception rooms and 4 bedrooms, this fantastic family home offers substantial accommodation and an incredible blank canvas on which to make your own mark.

The impressive triple aspect sitting room boasts both space and light, focussed around the open fire to balance a cosiness when the cooler nights draw in.
Downstairs also offers a cloakroom and separate functional utility/boot room with external access – perfect for hiding away the daily chores or kicking off the hiking gear after a Dartmoor ramble.

Upstairs there are 3 double bedrooms, each with built in wardrobes and 1 single bedroom. Of particular note is the imposing triple aspect, principal bedroom with ensuite shower room and super oriel window taking in attractive moorland and countryside views.
Landing storage and a family bathroom complete the accommodation.

Outside, the house is approached by a private driveway (shared with one other property) which leads to a double garage, turning area and parking for several vehicles. A graded, stepped pathway flanked by neat lawns invites you the front door where further lawned areas and large patio embrace the house. High fencing, trellis and established shrubbery add to the privacy of its delightful, elevated position. With no onward chain, viewings are highly recommended.

Situation & Amenities: - Cornwood sits in open countryside on the edge of Dartmoor, yet only four miles from the greater facilities of Ivybridge and eight miles from the Waterfront City of Plymouth. The main part of the village sits above the River Yealm valley and was once part of an important trading route which carried tin, wool and cattle between Tavistock and Totnes giving it a rich South Hams history.
The village has a population of around a thousand people and a strong community spirit. The Cornwood Inn is also community-owned serving food and drinks and acts as a focal point for activities that bring people together. It is a hub for outdoor activities, such as walking or cycling, with somewhere to store your equipment and meet up before setting out and a warm welcome on your return. Alongside the ever popular and successful Cornwood Cricket Club, the village is also home to the church of St Michael and All Angels. The Church of England Primary School, with its pre-school on the same site feeds into Ivybridge Community College with its World Class Quality Mark Award and fantastic sport facilities. Further community facilities such as Health Centres, Dentists, Libraries, Supermarkets, Leisure Facilities and Transport Links can be found in nearby Ivybridge and Plymouth beyond.
