Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
Well-connected to the city centre, Uni of Sheffield and West St. There is off-road parking available and a secure bin. It isn't very loud and there isn't much traffic on gell st. Springfield Primary school and gell st. park is nearby.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
They have been responsive, though the time taken to deal with an issue depends upon the nature of the issue.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
There can be some rough sleepers around the area; hence, lock your car properly at night.
Manager's response4Thanks so much for the detailed review, Madhu! We're really pleased the location is working well for you, the connection to the city centre etc and the quiet on Gell St.. Thanks too for flagging the lack of bike storage, that's useful for us to note. Glad our team has been responsive when you've raised issues, and thanks for the heads-up about staying alert at night, we'll keep resident safety front of mind.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
The property is very close to West Street and Division Street and is in a very lively location. Springfield School and Gell Street Park are right behind the property. The University of Sheffield is just up the road.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
When the fridge broke down and the ceiling had a wet patch, they tended to it relatively promptly.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
The heat retention in the apartment is quite poor.
Manager's response4Thanks so much for the thoughtful review, Kuganathan! We're glad the location is working well for you and it's also great to hear the top floor gets plenty of natural light and ventilation. Thanks for your patience with the fridge and ceiling issues, and for recognising that some delays came down to contractors rather than our team. We appreciate you flagging the heat retention too, that's useful feedback for us to look into. Thanks again for making this your home!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
Living on Gell Street is great if you love being in the heart of the city. The location is ideal—I can walk to shops, restaurants, and bars in minutes. There’s always something happening nearby, whether it’s grabbing a coffee, meeting friends for food, or just enjoying Devonshire Green. That little park is a lifesaver when you need some fresh air or a quiet spot. Transport is super convenient, with buses and trams close by, but I barely need them because everything’s so central. The street itself is a mix of old and new. The buildings have loads of character, which I love, but the area can get noisy at times, especially at night when the bars nearby are busy. It’s part of the charm of living in a lively area, but it might not be for everyone. Bin collections are pretty reliable, and the council does a decent job keeping the area tidy. Occasionally, you’ll spot a bit of litter or hear some late-night commotion, but I’ve never felt unsafe here.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Whenever there’s been a problem, whether it’s a maintenance issue or a request for repairs, the management team has been quick to acknowledge it and often resolves the issue within a reasonable time frame.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
Guidelines about setting up utilities. Water, electricity and wifi.
Manager's response4Hi David, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review! I am pleased to hear that you are happy with your Placefirst home and that you would recommend Placefirst. Thank you for your feedback regarding modernisation - I have passed this on to the wider team. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need anything; we’re always happy to help. All the best,
