Description

"Our house has been such a lovely place to call home. It’s central but quiet, so day-to-day life feels peaceful and easy. We’ve loved the views across Montpelier, spending sunny evenings on the terrace, having friends over or reading on the sofa. In winter, there’s nothing better than getting cosy in front of the wood burner. We’ve watched fireworks from the roof, and loved being able to walk down to Bianchis for a Sunday lunch."

The home

A simply beautiful Montpelier home that has been meticulously and lovingly restored and improved to an exceptional standard with unswerving attention to detail, perfect styling and a real understanding of both the properties period and the vibe of Montpelier itself. The double-fronted home is entered through a handsome front door into an elegant central hallway, with a beautiful stone floor, stylish colour palate and welcoming vibe, it's the perfect introduction to this special home.

To the left is the open plan kitchen which really is the heartbeat of the home. With a stunning solid wood floor with Nest controlled underfloor heating, rustic exposed brickwork chimney breast, stylish bespoke kitchen units and floating shelving it's a perfect blend of character and contemporary. Illuminated throughout the day by natural light that floods the room through the twin aspect sash windows and skylights, it's a wonderful space to host friends or just chill out. The kitchen has a super handy adjacent utility room withbutler sink, room for appliances and loads of storage.

The lounge is intimate yet spacious simultaneously, featuring the same beautiful solid wood flooring with underfloor heating, a handsome fireplace with slate hearth and log burner. With bespoke cabinetry, Bi-Fold doors opening onto the sun terrace and a front aspect sash window make it incredibly light and a fine room at any point of the day in every season.

The broad, central staircase rises from the hallway to the landing, and the solid wood flooring continues throughout the first floor. The main bedroom suite is a showstopper, with an exposed brick chimney breast, front facing double glazed sash window with pretty shutters, hand built bespoke wardrobes and ingenious storage options. This wonderful space is complemented perfectly by an en-suite that is a practical as it is aesthetically pleasing. With a freestanding roll edged bath, French antique sink with brass fittings, wood panelled walls with shelving and a multitude of storage options, it's the ideal start or end to any day. The second bedroom is an excellent double with twin aspect double glazed sash windows, solid wood floor with underfloor heating and loads of space for a home office. A great guest room which is complimented by the adjacent guest bathroom.

The central staircase continues to rise from the landing to a mezzanine level that provides further storage as well as skylight access to the roof, where you can sit and relax and enjoy the balloons, fireworks or just chill out with a book.

The outside

Accessible from both the kitchen and the lounge is a fab sun terrace that catches the afternoon and evening sun. With a planter, clever storage options and a wooden deck it's a great spot to enjoy a coffee in the morning or something stronger in the evening whilst looking across the rooftops and soaking up the ambience of the most Bristol of Bristol postcodes.
