Agents Notes

Inverness Rd was built from the early 1890s, with the first occupants listed from 1895 onwards (Nos1 through 16). As was common in Oldfield Park at the time, the builder (Walter W Bailey) lived at No1. The road is variously called Inverness Rd or Inverness Terrace throughout 1895 - 1900. It is likely that No4 was a police house or district station as the property is listed as occupied by a number of police sergeants from 1894 until 1913. This property is first listed as occupied by Job Crew (stoker) in 1900 with neighbours Alfred Beesley (baker & flour dealer) and Frederick Snow (carpenter).
