Description

Built in the 1960’s, Chippendale is an individual detached house which forms part of the residential centre to Whatfield.

Despite the house requiring comprehensive cosmetic updating, the property does offer significant scope to improve and modify. This could include reconfiguring part of the existing first floor to provide an ensuite to bedroom one.

Moreover, the external area to the eastern side of the kitchen also provides the option to extend, which would cater for modern family living.

Covering some 1,600 sq.ft, the existing accommodation is accessed via a carport to the front, with porch, hallway, and an adjacent cloakroom. The kitchen / breakfast room is chiefly fitted on two walls, with pantry, worksurfaces, base and eye level units, electric oven and hob, and a fridge. A further storage area / utility room gives access to the garage.

To the rear of the house is a particularly spacious sitting room (including a later single storey addition) which provides a range of windows overlooking the main garden, as well as sliding doors into a conservatory.

The first floor comprises three double bedrooms, where bedrooms two and three overlook the main rear garden, and the main bedroom overlooks the front garden and driveway. All bedrooms are served by a family bathroom.

Outside, the house is set well back in its 0.15-acre plot, with a front ‘in and out’ driveway which leads to a carport and a single garage. The main garden is to the rear, which enjoys a private, south-facing aspect which is mainly laid to lawn defined by established shrubs and hedges.

Location

Whatfield is a village approximately 2.5 miles from Hadleigh. Hadleigh is a very popular historic market town situated about 9 miles from Ipswich, 9 miles from Manningtree and about 14 miles from Colchester – all having main line services for London’s Liverpool Street station. The bustling town centre offers a wide range of local amenities including restaurants, pubs, sports facilities and a wide selection of shops.
