Property Insight
Set back behind a broad gravel driveway on Mildenhall Road, this detached four-bedroom home sits on a generous plot in the well-served village of Fordham. Parking is a real strength, with room for three to four vehicles in front of an attached double garage — a rarity at this level. The house has been comfortably modernised, with a contemporary kitchen, bathroom and en-suite already in place, leaving little to do beyond moving in. Its defining feature, though, lies to the rear: a south-facing garden stretching to approximately 140ft, offering the kind of outdoor space that is increasingly hard to find so close to Newmarket.
The ground floor is arranged for flexible family living. An entrance hall with a ground-floor WC leads through to a lounge finished with wood-effect flooring, which in turn opens into a conservatory overlooking the garden. A separate dining room sits alongside, while a well-proportioned study off the hall makes a practical home office, lined with an extensive run of fitted sliding-door storage that keeps it clutter-free. At the heart of the layout is the kitchen/breakfast room, fitted with ivory high-gloss handle-less units, wood effect worktops and black glass splashbacks, with a run of integrated Bosch appliances including a double oven and induction hob. Grey tiled flooring and a rear lobby completing the space give it a hard-wearing, modern feel throughout.
Upstairs, the principal bedroom benefits from fitted wardrobes and a modern en-suite shower room, and is joined by three further bedrooms and a stylish family bathroom in a bath-and-shower configuration. Outside is where the property comes into its own. The rear garden runs to around 140ft and faces south, with a paved patio adjoining the house giving way to a broad lawn framed by fencing, along with a selection of sheds and outbuildings towards the far end. To the front, the gravel driveway and double garage complete a home with space in abundance, inside and out. Early viewing comes recommended to appreciate the plot in full.

The village has a rich heritage and has been occupied for several thousand years, with Early Bronze Age and Iron Age weapons and tools found locally. The Crown, The Chequers and The White Pheasant are three excellent pubs and restaurants, and amenities include a primary school feeding into Soham Village College, a convenience store, coffee shop, butchers, garden centre, service station, recreation ground, fish and chip shop, post office and a regular car boot sale.
