The village of Portmahomack is only 1.5 miles away and has shops, a primary school, a hotel and two restaurants and a coffee shop. Tain is 12 miles away and is a Royal Burgh and County town. It has a medical centre, major supermarkets, hotels and restaurants and railway links to the north and south to Inverness and the national network.

From Inverness take the A9 north crossing the Kessock and Cromarty Bridges. Continue on the A9 towards Tain. Go straight ahead at Nigg roundabout until you reach a turning to the right signposted Fearn, Balintore, Portmahomack. Take this turning and continue along the road and pass through the village of Fearn. When leaving the village take the left-hand turning signposted Portmahomack. Continue along this road until you reach Portmahomack and when entering the village take an immediate right-hand turn, turn immediately right again, signposted Rockfield. Follow this road until you reach the Hamlet of Rockfield, and continue keeping left and along the road to the end. Westend is on the right-hand side at the end.
