Sellers Comments-
"I have genuinely loved living here. It’s been a comfortable and well-kept home, with a practical layout that offers plenty of flexibility for everyday living, working from home or having guests to stay.

I’ve always taken care of the house, although the garden is one thing I never quite got around to doing. It’s south facing, so it enjoys plenty of sunshine throughout the day, and is now a blank canvas for someone to transform into their own outdoor space.

The location is one of the things I’ve loved most about living here. The train station is within walking distance, making commuting into London straightforward, while a wide range of shops, cafés and everyday amenities are close by. The town centre is also easily reached on foot, and there are lovely parks and green spaces nearby for walks, fresh air and enjoying the outdoors.

After 13 very happy years, I’ve decided it’s time for a change and to move on. It’s been a wonderful home for me, and I hope the next owner will enjoy the space, location and lifestyle it offers as much as I have.

The road is a nice mix of families and working professionals. Everyone has always been friendly and polite, and it’s a generally welcoming place to live.

I really like the feel of the area. It’s a good balance of being convenient and well connected, while still feeling like a nice place to live. There’s a real mix of people, from families to professionals, and the nearby parks, shops and town centre mean there’s plenty within easy walking distance. It’s one of those areas where you can have everything you need close by, while still having a good sense of community and a friendly, relaxed feel."

Kiel's view-
There are some homes that simply feel ready for the next chapter the moment you walk through the door ..and this beautifully presented Victorian terrace on Connaught Road is one of them.

I’m Kiel Holder, and what immediately stands out here is just how exceptionally well this home has been cared for. The owner has created somewhere that combines the character buyers look for in a Victorian property with a level of presentation that means you can move straight in, unpack and enjoy it.

The accommodation is particularly well suited to modern life, with two genuine double bedrooms and two bathrooms, alongside some lovely period and lifestyle features.

The living room is a particularly inviting space, centred around a log burner that adds warmth and atmosphere during the colder months, while the front bay window brings in plenty of natural light and gives the room that unmistakable Victorian character.

The kitchen sits towards the rear, leading through to a downstairs wet room — an incredibly useful addition whether you’re a young family, downsizing, welcoming guests or simply appreciate having a second bathroom on the ground floor.

Upstairs are two comfortable double bedrooms, with the principal bedroom at the rear benefiting from a genuinely special en suite. And when I say special, I mean it. The beautiful roll-top bath brings a wonderfully indulgent, almost boutique-hotel feel to what is otherwise a practical family home.

It is this combination of practicality, character and presentation that makes the property so appealing.

For a couple or growing family, you have the simplicity of a manageable home without feeling like you’ve compromised on the things that make a house enjoyable. For someone downsizing, there is enough space for guests, hobbies and everyday life without the maintenance burden of a larger property. And for an investor, the fact this is already so well presented means it has obvious ready-to-let appeal, with little reason to undertake significant work before putting it on the rental market.

Most importantly, this is a home in a location that gives you the best of both worlds: a settled residential setting with Reading town centre, the station, amenities and everything the town offers within easy reach.

For me, this is exactly the sort of property that deserves to be viewed rather than simply scrolled past. Characterful, beautifully presented, practical and ready for its next owner.

Area view-
Connaught Road sits in a well-established part of Reading, giving you the increasingly valuable combination of a traditional residential setting and easy access to the centre of town.

Reading itself is one of the Thames Valley’s strongest commuter locations, with Reading Station providing a major rail interchange and fast connections towards London and across the wider region. The station is also served by the Elizabeth line, making the commute into London particularly attractive. Reading Station is one of Britain’s busiest rail hubs and a major interchange outside London.

For everyday life, you don’t need to venture far to find the things that make a location convenient. Central Reading provides an extensive choice of supermarkets, independent businesses, coffee shops, restaurants, bars, leisure facilities and retail, with the Oracle and Broad Street forming the heart of the town’s shopping and dining offer.

And while being close to town is important, having somewhere to escape to is equally valuable. Prospect Park is Reading’s largest open space, with broad areas of grass and meadow, woodland, a pond, children’s play facilities and numerous sporting facilities. It’s particularly useful for dog walks, running, family afternoons and getting some fresh air without having to leave Reading.

The wider West Reading area is also known for its independent shops and cafés, while the River Thames and surrounding green spaces provide plenty of options when you want to swap the town centre for something a little more relaxed.

For a growing family, the appeal is the sheer convenience: schools, shops, leisure, green space and the town centre are all within easy reach, while commuters have the transport infrastructure that makes Reading such a desirable place to live.

For those looking ahead, that combination is important too. You’re buying into an established residential area close to a major employment and transport hub rather than sacrificing convenience for space.
