Ardentinny is a small and picturesque coastal village set on the western shore of Loch Long, surrounded by the dramatic scenery of the Cowal Peninsula and the wider Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park. The area is known for its combination of lochside living, woodland, hills and access to the surrounding countryside. The village enjoys a particularly attractive natural setting, with Ardentinny Beach, one of the longest beaches on the Cowal Peninsula, nearby walking routes through Ardentinny Forest and easy access to Glen Finart and the surrounding hills. The shoreline and surrounding woodland provide excellent opportunities for walking, cycling, kayaking and simply enjoying the changing scenery and wildlife of this part of Argyll. Despite its peaceful and relatively secluded setting, Ardentinny remains connected to Dunoon and the wider Cowal Peninsula. Lorien Cottage is particularly well positioned within the village, approached from a private shared lane just beyond the Ardentinny Hotel. Its elevated setting allows the property to enjoy outstanding views across Loch Long towards the opposite shore and surrounding hills, while woodland and gardens provide an attractive backdrop to the rear.
