Woodlands is a small, peaceful and secure gated park surrounded by countryside, with lovely views towards Deer Leap.

It is very different from the large commercial holiday parks with entertainment complexes, crowds and constant activity.

Here, the attraction is the peace and quiet.

And because the park offers 12-month holiday use, you can enjoy your Somerset escape throughout the year — autumn walks, cosy winter weekends, spring in the countryside and long summer evenings on the deck.

A proper home-from-home

At 40ft × 20ft, the lodge feels wonderfully spacious inside.

The heart of it is a large, bright open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area, with plenty of room to relax, cook and entertain.

The fully equipped kitchen includes an integrated fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave and cooker, while the comfortable lounge has a feature fireplace and plenty of natural light.

There is also something you don't find in every holiday lodge — a separate utility and boot room with washer/dryer and additional storage.

It is especially useful after a muddy country walk or when coming back with the dog.

Two bedrooms and two bathrooms

The king-size master bedroom has its own walk-in wardrobe and private en-suite shower room.

The second bedroom is currently arranged as a double but can also be configured as a twin. It has a second walk-in wardrobe leading through to the main bathroom.

The main bathroom includes a full-size bath with overhead shower and Jack-and-Jill access, making the layout particularly practical when family or friends are staying.

And then there's the deck…

One of our favourite parts of the lodge is the large west-facing deck.

It's a lovely spot for breakfast outside, an afternoon coffee or simply sitting down with a drink at the end of the day and enjoying the countryside and evening sun.

There is also parking for two cars immediately by the lodge.

A wonderful base for exploring Somerset

Woodlands is ideally situated for enjoying some of the best places in this part of the West Country.

Wells, Cheddar Gorge, the Mendip Hills, Wookey Hole and Glastonbury are all within easy reach.

There are beautiful walks, villages, pubs and countryside all around — although sometimes the nicest thing to do is simply stay at the lodge and enjoy having nowhere you need to be.
