Seller Insights
“This is a beautiful home, with so much space and character. It’s been a fantastic place to raise my family. The property was built in 1850 and, as we understand it, the front of the house would originally have been the main living accommodation, with the servants’ quarters in the middle and former stables to the rear.
There are some wonderful original features, including the fireplaces, wooden floorboards and the grand staircase. The rooms are incredibly spacious too, with exceptionally high ceilings that give the house a wonderful sense of light and openness.
The layout offers a great deal of flexibility, with three reception rooms and a large games room downstairs, so there’s plenty of room for family life, entertaining or working from home. There’s also lots of potential to adapt the house in the future. The top floor, for example, could easily be turned into a self-contained annexe, subject to the necessary consents.
Although we’re so close to Boston, the house feels remarkably private and peaceful because it’s set well back from the road. The town centre is only a 10-minute walk, so shops, restaurants, leisure facilities and the rail station are all close at hand. You can also take the bus into Boston from Spilsby Road. The Pilgrim Hospital is also just a short five-minute walk away.
There are some excellent schools nearby. Boston High School, the girls’ grammar, is on our road, while Boston Grammar School is within easy reach. There are also several primary schools in the area.
My children are grown up now, so it feels like the right time for us to start a new chapter. I hope another family will come here and make it their home, and enjoy the space and character as much as we have.”
