The Fellside sits within the landscaped grounds at Whitbarrow Village, a short drive from Keswick. A split-level roof gives the front elevation its shape, and the glazing beneath runs almost the whole width, with Crittall-style doors folding back onto the terrace.

The living space runs the full depth of the front, with the lounge at one end built around a feature fire, the dining table at the other and the kitchen behind, and a timber entrance partition dividing the hallway from the room without closing it off. Vaulted ceilings, muted tones and whitewashed wood accents throughout, and a fire that gives the room something to sit around in February as well as August.

Whitbarrow Village sits inside the Lake District National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with Blencathra rising directly ahead and Helvellyn, Fairfield and Dollywaggon Pike beyond.

The resort facilities have all recently been refurbished. The Fellstone is the lounge and restaurant, run by MasterChef finalist Kyle Greenwood, and there is an indoor heated pool with splash pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room, a TechnoGym gym, a games room and a cinema. Outside there is a play area, crazy golf, a putting green, a woodland walk and a duck pond. The resort is gated, has 24 hour security and is open 365 days a year. Dogs are welcome.

Beyond the gates, Ullswater and Derwentwater are close for boating and paddleboarding, and Aira Force is a short drive. Keswick is the local town, twelve miles away, with its markets, independent shops, cafes and lakeside. The A66 and M6 are close by, and Penrith mainline station runs direct to London, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Subletting is optional and many owners never let at all. If you do, our fully managed service handles bookings, guest communications, housekeeping and laundry, with net earnings paid monthly.
