Description

This is a proper family home -  loads of space, a brilliant garden, and the kind of place that has clearly been made for real family life.

Set back from the road, it feels private from the minute you arrive, with a driveway providing parking for numerous cars. But the garden is probably what really makes this house special. It runs down to the stream, with mature trees, loads of space and a real sense of privacy.

When the current owners’ children were younger it was basically their own adventure playground - exploring, building, playing and just being kids. Now, it’s become somewhere to sit, switch off and enjoy the peace. You’ve also got views towards Eccles Pike, so the setting is pretty hard to beat.

Inside, there’s genuinely room for everyone. You’ve got a living room, dining kitchen, utility room, six bedrooms and two bathrooms, one of which is ensuite. The layout works really well for family life, with plenty of space to spread out without everyone being on top of each other.

There’s also potential to create further accommodation downstairs if you wanted to, whether that’s another living space, office, playroom or guest accommodation - obviously subject to the relevant planning permission and building regulations. Solar panels are another useful bonus.

Location-wise, you get a really good mix of countryside and convenience. You’re surrounded by some brilliant walking routes and open scenery, but still well placed for schools, college, commuting and everyday life.

From the sellers

“For us, this has always been a home that offers the best of both worlds - peaceful and private, but still really well connected for everyday life.
The garden has been at the heart of so many family memories. When the children were younger, with the stream, mature trees and all the space, it became their own little adventure playground. As they’ve grown up, we’ve appreciated it in a completely different way - as somewhere peaceful to sit, relax and enjoy the privacy.
The house itself has grown with us too. There’s always been room for everyone, and the sixth bedroom is probably the best example of that - over the years it’s been a playroom, teenage den, cinema room and now a gym.
We’ve also loved having the countryside right on the doorstep, with walks towards Ladder Hill, Chinley Churn and Castle Naze, while still having good links for schools, college, Manchester and Sheffield.
It’s been a really special family home for us and one that’s given us so many happy memories.”

In short: a big, private family home with six bedrooms, flexible living space, loads of parking, solar panels, countryside views and an amazing garden running down to the stream. If you want somewhere with space for family life, but still somewhere peaceful to come home to, this is a really good one
