Freehold

Description

A 1970s bungalow with 21st -century style, extensively renovated and beautifully presented, with a south-facing garden, a driveway
and a garageall on a quiet cul de sac in a quintessential village.

The property has seen total transformation over the last five years, from tired and impractical, to bright, open and fully functional, with nothing needed from new owners. It was replastered, redecorated, and rewired (with switches lower down and sockets higher
up), wool carpets and wood-effect floors were laid, and French doors were fitted to improve energy efficiency and draw in lots of natural light. It has also had new fascias and soffits installed in the last 12months.

The layout was reconfigured to better suit families, couples, and sole occupants alike, moving the living areas to the back and uniting them with the outdoors.

Stepping inside, the entrance hall is versatile. As well as ample storage, theres dedicated utility space, with provisions for a washing
machine and tumble dryer, keeping noisier appliances out the way. The loft provides further storage, and this is part boarded. The hall also has handy access into the garden, and a glazed oak door leads into the main accommodation. The bedrooms are to the front, one a generous double with fitted wardrobes and a dressing table, and the second a good-sized single or a useful home office.

The cul de sac has practically no traffic, so both sleeping and working are no problem here, and theres superfast broadband available at the address. The shower room is just steps from the bedrooms, and this is fitted with a modern white suite with black
touches, and with an oversized walk-in shower. Continuing down the hallway, theres comfortable flow around the lounge, dining area and kitchen. These spaces are connected for that sociable setting, and super bright and airy from the south-facing French doors. The lounge has a fitted media wall with a TV recess, storage cupboards, and display
cubbies with lighting. To the opposite side of the lounge is the kitchen. Theres a farmhouse feel from Shaker-style cabinetry and oak surfacing, with gaps for freestanding appliances of your choice. A Franke sink is inset into the worktop, and a shelf above affords
extra storage.

Lastly is the dining area, spanning the full width of the home. As well as being lovely and light, a stone hearth is in place for a log burner for cosiness and warmth in winter. The property is served by electric only, and there are new radiators throughout. The garden here is a retreat, in a peaceful spot, and with privacy from neighbours. Over two tiers, with a ramp between, the large deck is directly from the dining area, and the lower gravelling is secluded by fencing across the rear boundary and a high wall to the side.
Its low maintenance, with no lawn to mow, but there are raised beds stocked with pretty planting, along with opportunity to put
down pots for even more life. Power is available outside for lighting and heaters, and theres a tap for watering plants and washing cars. The summerhouse is insulated with lighting and power, it is currently used as an office yet is flexible for many other uses. This is also beneficial for shelter from
British weather, or simply for storage.

To the front of the plot, theres off-road parking for four cars, two on the block-paved driveway, one in front of the garage, and one in the garage if not needed for storage. For accessibility, theres step-free access to
the front door via a ramp.

Elmwood is a private road on the edge of Turvey, set back off the High Street, while still within easy walking distance of its amenities.

The village offers all the essentials, including two local shops, two pubs both serving food, a butchers, a village hall for an active calendar of clubs and classes, and a church that plays host to regular community events. Turvey House puts on an eclectic mix of events, including outdoor cinemas, music festivals and steam fayres, Elderswell Village offers a spa and gym, a bar and restaurant,
while Emmaus Village in neighbouring Carlton is great for a bite to eat and a browse of pre-loved items. For families, Turvey has a primary school and a pre-school, and is a short drive from the popular Harrold Odell Country Park, where you can feed the ducks,
watch the swans swim by, even have a go at the skatepark or on the outdoor gym. Although a rural location surrounded by
countryside, Turvey is well connected to the county town of Bedford, the vibrant market town of Olney, as well as Milton Keynes and Northampton.

There are bus stops along the High Street, and the closest mainline station is in Bedford.
