Auxi-le-Chateau is a beautiful small town with quaint half-timbered building and pretty, narrow streets.  It is often described as having the look of a film set.  Besides all the history and heritage, Auxi also has plenty of good shops and restaurants as well as all the essential amenities such as banks and medical services.  Market day is on Saturday and there are also various fetes and festivals throughout the year.  It's a great way to get to know the locals.

The lovely beaches of the Opal coast are also within easy reach.  Long stretches of beautiful sandy beaches and plenty of amazing seafood restaurants to choose from, if you're a shell-fish fan, this is the place to be!  After lunch, or possibly before lunch just to be on the safe side, there are also lots of activities to enjoy - swimming, fishing, yachting, walking, horse-riding, cycling and golf - just take your pick!
