Some houses feel generous before you've even reached the first room. This is one of them.

Step through the front door and the hallway opens up around you, with a sweeping staircase and a real sense of space. It feels like a proper entrance to a family home, but more importantly, it gives you a glimpse of how the rest of the house works. Nothing here feels squeezed in.

There are different places for different parts of the day. The living room is where you can properly switch off, brightened by windows on two sides with doors opening straight onto the garden. In summer, leave them open and the garden simply becomes part of the room.

Perhaps the nicest thing about this home is that people can be doing completely different things without ever feeling disconnected. Someone working quietly in the office.
