Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The location of this place couldn’t be better. Its in the Jewellery Quarter but as its right on the edge the city centre is also at your door within 5 minutes. The JQ has everything you need, food spots are amazing, bars are great, and the small businesses such as barbers are great. It’s a very premium and safe feeling place.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Any issue i’ve raised has been responded to quickly

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Jewellery Quarter parking permits aren’t available so have a look around for parking.

    Sept 2026

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Makers Place is in a very convenient location in Birmingham city centre. There is a great range of shops, supermarkets, restaurants, cafés and bars within walking distance, so we rarely need to travel far for everyday essentials or places to eat. The city centre, Bullring and other shopping areas are also easily accessible. Transport links are excellent, with Birmingham Snow Hill and New Street stations within easy reach, as well as nearby tram and bus services. This makes getting around Birmingham and travelling to other cities very convenient. Being in the city centre also means most places are accessible on foot. The area around Makers Place has generally been pleasant to live in. Despite the central location, we haven't experienced any major issues with anti-social behaviour or excessive traffic noise. Bin collections and the general upkeep of the development have been well managed. Parking in the city centre can be limited and expensive, but there are several car parks nearby. Overall, the location is one of the biggest advantages of living at Makers Place, particularly for anyone who values convenience and easy access to the city centre.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The building management team has always been very responsive and proactive whenever we have raised any issues or questions. They communicate clearly, keep us updated and make an effort to resolve any problems as quickly as possible. Stacey, Charlotte and Eve in particular have been very approachable and helpful, and we have always felt that our concerns and requests are taken seriously.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

One thing we wish we had known before moving in is just how convenient the location would be for everyday life. Having so many shops, restaurants, transport links and city-centre amenities within walking distance has been a bigger benefit than we initially expected. We also didn't realise how helpful and approachable the team in the building would be. For any new neighbour, our main tip would be to make use of the facilities available and don't hesitate to speak to the building team if you have any questions, as they have always been happy to help.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

It’s genuinely a lovely quiet area to live. Theres a few shops here and there and some coffee shops. The area in general doesn’t have a lot of foot traffic and I haven’t seen any anti-social behaviour. So far feels safe.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

We just moved in but the management team have been easy to reach so far

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

It’s a really lovely building to call home. Just what we were looking for!

    Manager's response

Thank you so much Mahamed for taking time to recognise some of our wonderful Makers Place team :) We love JQ and pleased that you are now calling it home!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The location is extremely convenient, particularly being so close to Birmingham city centre and having shops and cafés within easy reach.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Communication has been quick and professional when any issues have been raised. There is also the Moda app for raising and keeping track of maintenance requests, which makes the process straightforward.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I didn’t know how useful the Moda app would be for keeping everything simple and in one place.

    Manager's response

Thanks Ayan! We are so pleased that you have settled in and the team have helped welcome you to Makers Place :)

    Aug 2026

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The Jewellery Quarter is a lovely area to stay, with plenty of nice cafés and restaurants nearby. It’s a great area with a vibrant atmosphere and lots of options for food and drinks. The windows provide good soundproofing despite the building being next to a main road, although it can get quite noisy when the windows are open. The main downside is limited parking, with no guest parking or safe parking options nearby.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Really positive experience overall. When I moved in, there was some mould on the wall, but the team sorted it out the very next day. The management team is very responsive, and you can ask questions through the app and get quick help without having to go to reception.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I’d known that the building was still being finalised, with quite a few construction workers around. Also, guest parking can be difficult to find, as there are limited safe parking options nearby.

    Manager's response

Thank you Whitney! We hope you have settled in to your new home :) Thank you for your understanding and patience with the construction works- this should all be complete within the next couple of weeks, but great to see improvements being made around the building and local area. We look forward to seeing you enjoying the amenities - please let us know if there is anything we can do to help. See you soon!
