Accommodation
This property was converted from an old schoolhouse, maintaining many of its period features. It has been thoughtfully improved by the current owners, including a refitted kitchen (2025), a replaced boiler, and a refitted bathroom.
As you enter the property, you are greeted with an entrance hallway with a kitchen to the left and sitting room ahead.
The kitchen was refitted in 2025 with a comprehensive range of shaker style cabinetry and oak effect worksurfaces. It features an integrated fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine, as well as a ceramic sink. The flooring in the kitchen was also replaced at this time with slate effect vinyl.
As you follow through the property, you will find a generous sitting room with double glazed glass doors leading to the private courtyard. The sitting room benefits from oak flooring and an additional window added by the current owners which allows for plenty of natural lighting.
On the first floor, to the left you will find the principal bedroom which is a double, allowing for plenty of room for a bed and additional furniture, and further benefits from a characterful wooden beam, a good size window to the rear aspect allowing plenty of natural lighting as well as a built-in wardrobe. The second bedroom overlooks the front aspect and is a comfortable single.
Completing the first floor, the family bathroom comprises a modern white suite consisting of a panel bath with overhead shower, wash hand basin and a loo. Again, exposed beams are a feature, giving a sense of the history of the property.
To the rear of the property, there is a private, low maintenance courtyard garden enjoying views over the rooftops of Ashcott. There is also a front garden area, an off-road parking space and a garage.

The property is situated on the edge of the popular village of Ashcott, positioned along the Polden Hills which run east to west between Street and Bridgwater.

Bridging loans – We can help.
Moving house is complicated and stressful when a sale and purchase needs to be tied together in terms of finance and timing.
Sometimes we can negotiate an agreement to suit both sellers and buyers.
