Description
REF: JC0739 - There’s something quite refreshing about a house that isn’t trying too hard. No grand claims, no pretending the spare room could host a small wedding reception… This is simply a good, practical two-bedroom home that does exactly what it says on the tin.
Step inside and the entrance hall keeps things nice and simple, with the stairs heading up and the ground-floor rooms leading off. There’s also a downstairs WC tucked away here, which might not be the most exciting sentence we’ve ever written, but anyone who has lived without one will know just how handy it is.
The kitchen sits to the front and gives you a good amount of cupboard and worktop space, with room for the everyday appliances and a window bringing plenty of natural light in. It’s functional, unfussy and perfectly capable of handling everything from Sunday dinner to standing over the toaster wondering why everyone else in the house has suddenly decided they’re hungry too.
To the rear is the living space, with plenty of room to create both lounging and dining areas and doors opening out towards the garden. It makes this the natural everyday room of the house; somewhere for dinner, TV, toys, homework and all the usual bits of life that rarely stay neatly in their designated areas.
Head upstairs and there are two genuinely useful bedrooms. Bedroom One is currently doing sterling work as the girls’ shared room, showing just how much you can actually get in there, while Bedroom Two comfortably accommodates a double bed along with a substantial run of wardrobes. No box room being introduced as a “cosy bedroom” here.
The bathroom has been given a much more contemporary look, with a bath and shower over, modern tiling and black detailing. Oh, and there’s a television above the bath. Apparently, it was there when the current owner bought the house, so we have absolutely no explanation for it… But watching The Chase while having a soak does sound suspiciously civilised.
Outside, the rear garden is arranged over different levels with a paved patio and artificial lawn keeping maintenance fairly painless. Steps lead up to the rear access, and beyond here is another genuinely useful feature, a private parking space/drive to the rear, meaning you’re not coming home from work and beginning the nightly game of “who’s parked outside my house?”
Ultimately, this one isn't complicated. It’s a straightforward, practical two-bedroom terrace with two good bedrooms, a downstairs WC, usable outside space and its own parking. For a first-time buyer, young family or someone simply wanting a home that gets the basics right, there’s a lot here that makes sense.
Location
Willett Avenue sits in a really handy part of Chasetown, and for a first-time buyer or young family the location makes a lot of sense. You’re only a short walk from Chasetown High Street, so this is one of those homes where popping out for milk doesn’t necessarily involve finding the car keys. There are local shops, takeaways, cafés and everyday essentials close by, while Morrisons and Lidl are also within easy reach.
Families are particularly well catered for. St Joseph & St Theresa Catholic Primary School is around 0.3 miles away, with Ridgeway Primary Academy around 0.5 miles away. For older children, Erasmus Darwin Academy is particularly convenient at roughly 0.2 miles from the postcode, while Chase Terrace Academy is another nearby secondary option.
And this is Burntwood, so you’re never too far from some proper outdoor space. Chasewater Country Park is close by for walks, cycling, the playground, café and those Sunday mornings where you promise you’re “just going for a quick walk” and somehow disappear for two hours.
For commuters, Burntwood gives straightforward road access towards Lichfield, Cannock, Brownhills and the wider A5/M6 Toll network, making it a useful base for getting around South Staffordshire and the West Midlands. Rail commuters have stations at Landywood, Cannock and Hednesford within driving distance, with Landywood approximately 3.7 miles away.
So, while the house itself keeps things refreshingly straightforward, the location does plenty of the heavy lifting, schools close by, shops within walking distance, Chasewater nearby and good connections when you need to venture further afield.
