Description

*STUNNING INTERNAL CONDITION* A quaint and tastefully modernised two double bedroom end of terrace Victorian cottage retaining much of its original fabric to include stripped pine ledged doors, exposed ceiling timbers and an open fireplace with modern burner, located in the Georgian market town of Ampthill. Internally the home is presented in excellent order throughout with features to include a living room, stylish re-fitted kitchen/breakfast room, a ground floor contemporary shower-room, home working area and an en-suite bathroom to the principal bedroom. Outside there is a mostly private, enclosed landscaped garden which has a south/westerly facing orientation and a brick built outbuilding.

The main entrance to the home leads directly in to the living room which has an open fireplace which houses a modern multi-fuel cast iron burner which sits on a slate hearth and has an attractive exposed brick surround. Either side of the fireplace are fitted book cases and double storage cupboards below. There is a full turn staircase rising to the first floor and useful under-stairs storage cupboard. An internal door leads out to the kitchen which has been fitted with a contemporary range of neutral coloured units with a solid wood effect worktops over. There is a free-standing range with two separate ovens, a grill, warming drawer, five ring gas hob and hot plate. Space has been made available for a washing machine, dishwasher and fridge/freezer, there is quarry tiling to the flooring and a bespoke fitted seating area to the corner with ample space for a table. Furthermore there is cabinet downlighting, a modern wall mounted extractor hood over the range and metro-block tiling to the splash-back areas.

An opening from the kitchen leads in to a rear lobby with access available in to the garden as well as the re-fitted shower-room. This area has a corner cubicle, low level w/c and a vanity unit with top mounted basin all finished in awhite/grey combination. The walls are fully covered with a neutral and modern white block tile and there is a window facing towards the rear aspect of the home.

The first floor landing has been cleverly transformed in to a home office space with bespoke fitted shelving and desk unit. Two tastefully presented double bedrooms also house this as well as an ensuite bathroom to the principal bedroom which has been fitted with a jacuzzi bath with shower over, low level w/c and a pedestal wash hand basin. There is a fitted storage cupboard with shelving and a wall mounted gas boiler.

The garden to the rear of the home is fully enclosed, mostly laid to lawn and is south/westerly facing. There is a stone paved patio and seating area with fitted awning above. Steps continue to the rear of the garden where there is a useful brick built outbuilding which is currently being used for storage purposes. In addition there is a wood-store and raised sleep borders with a variety of shrubs and plants.

Within close proximity are access to Ampthill's town centre and extensive amenities, Waitrose store, parks and high street shops. The area is renowned for its autonomous schooling for all age groups, with 'Russell Lower' 'Alameda' and 'Redborne' just a short walk away. There is also a local pick-up point for the Bedford Harpur trust private schools for both boys and girls. Links into London are from the Flitwick platform with a frequent service into St Pancras which takes as little as 40 minutes, major road links are from J13, M1 which is less than 15 minutes from the property.
