Description
The location of Regency Court is a well-connected yet calm and quiet cul de sac. You are just five minutes from Deptford and New Cross stations and their centres. For Wharf-workers, Deptford DLR Station is yours in 10 minutes.
Find your own front door on the first floor. On entry (noting fresh white walls) there is a coat closet to your left. Follow the hall round and to your left is your principal bedroom, of over 15 feet by 9 feet. To the corner you have a smart en suite shower room.
Back in the hall and next door is your second bedroom. It is a decent double, of 14 feet by over 8 feet. Both bedrooms are newly carpeted.
Next up is your modern internal bathroom, with white suite, concealed plumbing, and large profile tiling.
The main event is waiting for you at the foot of the hall: your roomy open-plan reception/dining room/kitchen, which runs over 24 feet by over 10 feet. Such an entertaining-friendly size. Sliding doors open to the small and decked triangular balcony to views over trees and more low-rise modern housing.
Resting on the Deptford/New Cross border, you are wonderfully-close to Goldsmiths University (we love the ‘Scribble’ atop the Arts complex) and Goldsmiths Centre for Contemporary Art, and Deptford High Street and Market Yard, Greenwich and Brockley too – all are an easy walk for pubs, markets and more.
This is such a good base this for accessing the best of south London. Of the weekend, take a stroll down to gorgeous Greenwich with its Royal Park and museums, river proximity and rich architecture. Or staying closer, Hilly Fields and Telegraph Hill's Victorian parks are fabulous.
Local Farmers' Markets are Brockley Market (held in Lewisham College's walled car park - cooler than it sounds!) and one at the lower park in Telegraph Hill. Both are on Saturdays.
New Cross has a growing number of strong places to eat and drink; The Amersham Arms, Wakey Wakey, Corner and The Rose Inn are recommended. Coffee shops impress as well.
The cool bars, restaurants, cafes and markets of Deptford High Street and recently developed Market Yard are all very local. Check out Jazu, Badger Badger, The Watergate, Klose & Soan, SALT and Marcella; all within mere minutes of your door. The Dog & Bell is a lovely old style boozer, a dreamy local. Central Deptford further boats regular markets, a theatre, and a modern leisure centre next to the library.
Deptford is also home to St Paul's: one of London's finest Baroque parish churches, cited as "one of the most moving C18 churches in London" in the Buildings of England series.
For more options, you can bus or cycle over to Peckham, Dulwich, Blackheath, Camberwell, Brixton and Lewisham.
