Description
Background
On 5th May 1852, 6 plots of land were put up for sale at the Talbot Inn, Bradford described in the particulars of sale as “All that valuable Mansion House with outoffices and gardens called Bolton House in the occupation of Mr Tolson Esquire, together with a portion of land (about two acres) of the gardens and pleasure grounds intended to be the proposed Peel Park along the Eccleshill turnpike road. Now 29 and 31, were built as a narrow terrace of three cottages, in 1840, as dwellings for the gardeners and the coachmen of Bolton House. The properties had undergone a number of quite major alterations, judging from the style, the first during 1880 – 90 with a mullioned window elevation. In 1960, a single storey sun lounge was added to the house.
