Description
Find your new home in a smart development which is just a 10 minute walk from Oval tube. Kennington Park is even closer. Other local parks include Eythorne and Myatt's Fields.
A private terrace fronts your property and it is here where you will find your front door. The hall is roomier than most, with high ceilings, and gives you a 'house feel' with stairs rising to your left. Beyond these is a neat guest w.c. Turn right for the main event: a glorious and large through-room running over 26 feet(!) incorporating kitchen, dining and seating areas. It is beautifully-bright, too, with glazed French doors off your kitchen area, and big sliding ones from your lounge area - onto a generous balcony.
Upstairs to the first floor (skylit) landing - and onto leafy views over Vassall Road - you have a sliding glazed doors/Juliet balcony setup in your principal bedroom, of 17 feet by nearly 10 feet. An en suite bathroom completes matters.
There are a couple of useful cupboards on the landing (one is plumbed for your washing machine, pleasingly keeping noise out of the kitchen) then you have your main modern bathroom, and another sizeable double bedroom, of over 12 feet by over 9 feet (with a cool boxed window).
This is such a well-connected spot! Stockwell, Oval and Kennington have loads of good cafes, restaurants and pubs to choose from. A few of so many good ones are 24 The Oval, Canton Arms, The Derby and Fentamin Arms.
Your most local big green space is Kennington Park (originally called ‘Kennington Common’): a Victorian-era public park with sporting facilities, winding paths, mature trees, and an Old English flower garden featuring at its centre. The Collective in Kennington Park is a lovely spot for coffee, pastries and pizza!
There is a popular weekly Farmers’ Market at Oval, and another on Camberwell Green (where you will also find Camberwell Library) as well.
Myatt’s Fields Park is an awesome green space: a gorgeous, listed Victorian-era park with lots of open space, café, fine bedding displays, tennis courts and a bandstand. It is a great community resource and is one of Lambeth’s nine Green Flag Award-winning parks. At its far end is the charming Minet Library, along with local arts hub Longfield Hall.
Camberwell is close as well. It is firmly on the map for popular places to eat and luxury groceries, too. We like The Kerfield Arms, Little Cellars, Theo's, Gladwell’s, The Bear, Veraison Wines and The Camberwell Arms especially.
