Description

A beautifully presented four bedroom Victorian terrace in Forest Gate, combining generous proportions and original character with a thoughtful contemporary finish. Arranged over three floors, there’s an extended kitchen-diner, an open through-lounge, two bathrooms and a landscaped rear garden, while Forest Gate Station, the High Street and a great collection of local cafés, bakeries and restaurants are all close by.

IF YOU LIVED HERE...

The ground floor begins with a wonderfully characterful through-lounge, where a bay window, exposed brick fireplaces, timber flooring and built-in shelving bring warmth and personality to the space. There’s plenty of room to create distinct sitting and dining areas without losing the openness between them. Beyond, the extended kitchen-diner stretches towards the garden, with dark cabinetry, pale worktops and rooflights overhead. Glazed doors open directly outside, making the garden feel like a natural continuation of the living space.

On the first floor are two double bedrooms and the family bathroom. The larger bedroom has a full wall of built-in wardrobes, while the second continues the home's characterful palette. The bathroom is particularly inviting, with a freestanding bath, separate walk-in shower and soft blue-grey tones.

Upstairs, the loft conversion adds two further double bedrooms, along with a separate shower room and useful eaves storage. The larger loft bedroom is especially spacious, with rooflights drawing in plenty of daylight. Outside, the landscaped garden extends to around ten metres, with lawn, planting and a tucked-away seating area at the far end.

A WORD FROM THE OWNER...

"We have absolutely loved living in Forest Gate and have made so many happy memories here. We moved into this house as a couple, got engaged and married while living here, welcomed our cats Ernie and Rita, brought our son Iggy home here, and are now expecting our second baby, so it really has been the backdrop to some of the biggest moments of our lives. We love the sense of community and how much there is on our doorstep, with brilliant local places including The Forest Tavern, The Holly Tree, Pretty Decent Taproom, Gio’s, Ramble, Wild Goose Bakery and Lavi, as well as E7 Movement, The Reformery Pilates and Pint-Sized Playhouse. We’re also lucky to be nestled between Wanstead Flats and West Ham Park, giving us so much green space despite being in London. The transport links are fantastic, with the station an easy walk away and quick connections into central London. We’ve put a huge amount of love into the house, and the garden is particularly special in summer when it gets sunshine for most of the day. We genuinely wouldn’t be leaving if our circumstances weren’t changing, but with our family growing we’ve made the difficult decision to move closer to family. We hope the next owners enjoy living here as much as we have."
