Description

Detached, extended, and forty years loved. Now it's someone else's turn.

Tucked at the end of a popular cul-de-sac in Droitwich, this three-bedroom detached home sits on a corner plot with no neighbours to the right and a garden generous enough to have supported a full side extension. Inside, that extension has given the house a well-proportioned kitchen and a ground floor wet room, alongside a study that could easily double as a fourth bedroom. Add a block-paved driveway with room for three cars and a garage, and this is a home built for families who need the space to spread out. Offers in excess of £270,000.

We asked them what made them buy it...

"We loved it from the moment we set foot in it. The owners were still there, so it wasn't empty, it was quirky. The garden is larger than others on the road, so we knew we could extend. There's also a grassy area right outside, and we're at the end of a cul-de-sac, so it's quiet. Droitwich itself is fairly quiet but close to the town centre and Worcester, with good motorway access. We've never stopped loving the garden, the light, airy feel of the house, and the view from the back. And the Railway!"

What about the house itself?

"We moved in back in January 1983, and had the kitchen, wet room, utility and office built onto the side the following year. In 1994 we knocked through between the lounge and dining room, and in September 2025 we put the wall back to make the lounge cosier. We had a wood burner in there from 2009 to 2025. The garden's where I grow vegetables and sit and read, and it's where the family comes to sit when they visit. I spend my time between the kitchen, the lounge for the TV and the view, and the dining room, where I sew. The lounge and conservatory catch the sun through summer, and the garden's big enough that it never feels crowded even when everyone's over."

Our agents say...

This is a home that's been shaped around real life for over forty years, and it shows. The side extension has done exactly what a good extension should: added a proper working kitchen, a downstairs wet room and a utility space, without making the house feel bolted-together. The study is a genuine bonus, big enough to work from home in or convert into a fourth bedroom if you need it. Outside, the corner position means no neighbours on one side, and the block-paved driveway gives parking for three cars alongside the garage.

The flue from the old wood burner is still there on the outside wall, so reinstating one in the lounge would be straightforward for a buyer who wants that. And there's a view of the railway line from the garden, which some would see as a drawback, but it has clearly been part of what this family has loved about the place. It's worth seeing in person before you make up your mind either way.

Droitwich itself has plenty going for it: the Droitwich Canal and Salwarpe and Severn river walks are close by, along with The Old Cock Inn, The Castle and The Nightingale out towards Evesham. The Norbury Theatre, Droitwich Leisure Centre, and the summer fetes at Vines Park and Lido Park all add to the sense of community here. Buses run hourly to Worcester and Bromsgrove, and motorway access is close.

This one would suit a family who wants space to grow into, or a couple who wants a big garden and a bit of quiet. Get in touch to arrange a viewing.
