Description
Tucked away on one of Bordesley's most sought-after roads, Hither Green Lane, this detached three-bedroom bungalow backs directly onto Abbey golf course, with a well-maintained rear garden that makes the most of those views. Inside, you'll find a bright, spacious lounge, a double bedroom with its own en-suite, and a kitchen with separate utility room leading through to a double garage. Offered with no onward chain, it's a home that's ready and waiting for its next chapter.
We asked them what made them buy it...
"It was the tranquility, and the views across the garden and the golf course. We wanted a quiet, rural area, but still close to the town centre and amenities, and this ticked every box. You can walk around Arrow Valley Lake, which is a lovely park with a large lake teeming with wild birds, swans, ducks and herons. The golf club and spa is about a ten minute walk away, and Arrow Valley Sports Centre is a short drive. Motorway access is only around five to ten minutes away too, and we've had easy commutes to Birmingham, Stratford-upon-Avon and Evesham on the local road network.
What about the house itself?
"The lounge is very spacious, with good views across the back garden and beyond, and it's always warm, whether that's from the central heating or the sun on the back of the bungalow for most of the day. We replaced the large picture window in the lounge with patio doors, which brought in extra light and gave us better views and easier access to the garden. There's a huge, partly boarded loft area for storage, and the double garage has been brilliant, whether for the car, gardening or DIY equipment. One of the bedrooms has previously been used as an office. The garden has been such a special space for us. We've used it for wedding photographs, and even held a small family wedding reception for around thirty guests, with the garden giving everyone fresh air to enjoy. It's also been wonderful for the grandchildren to play in, and we've kept a small fruit and vegetable plot at the side of the bungalow, mostly runner beans, with a few onions, rhubarb and strawberry plants too."
Our agents say...
This is a genuinely special spot, and not just because of the postcode. Backing onto Abbey golf course, with the golf club, spa and hotel restaurant practically on the doorstep, it's easy to see why the current owners describe it as tranquil. But it's far from cut off. Arrow Valley Lake is a short stroll away for weekend walks, and the local road network puts Birmingham, Stratford-upon-Avon and Evesham well within easy reach.
The bungalow itself has flexibility built in. That double bedroom with its en-suite and fitted wardrobes is a proper primary suite, the second double comes with fitted wardrobes and a bay window, and the third bedroom has already proven itself as a home office for anyone needing space to work from home. The lounge is the real showstopper though. Two sets of sliding doors and those replaced patio doors flood the space with light and frame the golf course views beautifully. There is also currently a disconected gas fire in the fireplace
Add a huge loft for storage, a double garage, and a driveway with parking for multiple cars, and you've got a home that works just as well for a couple looking to future-proof their retirement as it does for family gatherings. And with no onward chain, there's nothing standing between you and moving in.
