This magnificent Mallorcan country estate with 550,000 m2 of land and constructions totalling 2,000 m2 in Algaida dates back to the 15th century, although the current buildings were constructed in the 18th century. Its owner was the Llull family, descendants of the famous 13th-century Mallorcan beatus, Ramon Llull.
A very valuable extra is its own natural spring of water bubbling up from the ground, already utilised in Moorish times, which channels water to the large cistern – safareig, where animals drink. In general, it provides total food independence thanks to the utilisation of agricultural and livestock farming land, its own water, and abundant natural resources on the estate itself. The extensive land encompasses a mountainous area of pine, holm oak, carob, and other tree species, as well as rich pastures. It is currently also a private hunting reserve.
The large main house forms a unit with the farmhands' house, but with separate entrances, as well as various outbuildings of all kinds for maintaining a farm with animals (currently sheep), etc. In former times, there were also vineyards, and large wooden wine barrels from that era remain in the largest storehouse. There is also another cistern – swimming pool of approximately 6 m2 in the corner of the house. Separate from this large main house are two other constructions, a small house of 50 m2 and a stable of about 200 m2.
It is only 20 minutes from Palma airport, but far from flight paths and motorways, therefore it is a very tranquil area. There is no mains electricity, although it is nearby and can be connected.
