Description

83, Gwithian Towans is a Malibu beach-house inspired retreat overlooking Gwithian Beach and the sea, with the 3 mile beach and its golden sands just 200m from the door.

The house is imaginatively and stylishly designed with a contemporary and open plan layout making full use of space and light as well as the stunning setting and beach and ocean views, with bi-fold and sliding doors opening for indoor/outdoor living and with high quality fixtures and fittings throughout.

The partly full height open plan sitting/dining room/kitchen provides a stunning family living space with fully equipped fitted kitchen including L shaped island with breakfast bar, double oven, gas and induction hobs and coffee machine. There is a dining area and the full height sitting area with exposed roof timbers opens, via bi-fold doors within the glazed, timber framed, gable end and glazed sliding doors, to the decked balcony terrace wrapping around two sides and providing idyllic areas for outdoor dining and sitting overlooking the beach and sea.

The entrance door from the rear of the house and hall lead to the kitchen and, either side of the hall, are two bedrooms with fitted wardrobes and en suite shower rooms, one also having access from the hall.

Stairs descend to the lower ground floor incorporating the utility room, shower room, large room with access to storage for surf equipment/wet suits.

From the kitchen/dining room area the stairs rise to a lovely atmospheric galleried family room, overlooking the sitting room area, with balustrade, exposed roof timbers, fitted bookcases and stunning sea views. A door from here opens into the large, comfortable principal bedroom with inset TV, fitted wardrobe cupboard, Juliet balcony window with sea views and an en suite shower room.

To the rear of the house is a parking space a storage shed.

Gwithian Towans is one of West Cornwall’s most breathtaking coastal locations and beachside settings, with its backdrop of rolling sand dunes, rugged coastline and St Gothian Sands nature reserve fronting beautiful St Ives Bay.

Gwithian Towans and Beach consist of a stunning area of sand dunes and 3 mile stretch of golden, sandy beach on the North Cornwall coast, just to the east of Hayle and west of Godrevy. Renowned for its surfing, watersports and coastal lifestyle, it also benefits from abundant wildlife and rare plants, and is popular for walking, surfing and kite sports, as well as with nature enthusiasts and families enjoying the rock pools and life guarded areas
in summer.

Much of the surrounding land is protected by the National Trust and there are stunning sunsets and views towards Godrevy Lighthouse on its rocky outcrop, famed for inspiring Virgina Woolf’s novel ‘To the Lighthouse’. Gwithian Beach
turns into Godrevy and from here the rugged coastline wraps around the National Trust owned headland to Mutton Cove, home to a grey seal colony.

The house is within easy walking distance of local beach cafes, the Rockpool Bar and café and the pub in Gwithian.

Nearby Hayle provides a good selection of local amenities including shops, supermarkets and cafés.

At the other end of Gwithian Beach, and on the other side of the bay, is Porthkidney Beach, Carbis Bay and another of West Cornwall’s most iconic destinations, the seaside town of St Ives, with its picturesque fishing harbour, turquoise waters and thriving arts scene. Its charming maze of narrow cobbled streets are home to an eclectic mix of boutique shops, galleries, restaurants and bars and the town is bordered by six beautiful beaches and, celebrated for its natural light, has attracted artists for generations, being home to Tate St Ives, the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden and the Bernard Leach Pottery. There are numerous cafés, pubs and award winning restaurants.

Nearby is the links couse at West Cornwall Golf Club in Lelant, with stunning views across the Hayle Estuary to Godrevy Lighthouse, and the South West Coast Path provides spectacular walking along the dramatic coastline.

There is a railway station at Hayle on the Penzance to London Paddington mainline. A scenic branch railway connects St Ives and Carbis Bay to the main line at St Erth. Newquay Airport provides daily flights to Gatwick and other UK and international destinations. There is easy access to the A30 leading west to Penzance and east to Exeter and the M5 motorway.
