Description

Imagine walking to school, the park and the pub. Now imagine doing it from a quiet cul-de-sac.

Tucked away in a quiet cul-de-sac in sought-after Norton, this three-bedroom family home has been thoughtfully modernised by its current owners. A brand new kitchen sits at the front. The lounge and dining room runs across the back and opens through French doors onto a private garden framed by neighbouring trees. Upstairs there are three bedrooms and a family bathroom, and there's a garage and driveway to the front, all in around 955 sq ft.

We asked them what made them buy it...

"The street was so welcoming when we first arrived. It was quiet, with families and friendly neighbours around, and people had just started putting up their Christmas lights. Our son was only a baby at the time, and it has been such a lovely place for him to grow. When we moved in, the neighbours made sure we were invited to their street party straight away and there isn’t one neighbour who would hesitate to help anyone out if they needed anything. Location was the main thing for us. Gig Mill School is brilliant, Mary Stevens Park needs no introduction and nearby Norton Covert leads on to the Three Fields walk over the hills, where you feel like you're right out in nature."

What about the house itself?

"We spend most of our time in the main living area. It's our family space for reading and TV, and the table is where we do crafts, eat together and socialise. The kitchen was newly fitted in 2025 and there's so much storage. Guests always comment on it. We've both worked from home and commuted from here, and the space works flexibly for both. The garden opens right out from the living space, so it's a great party space, and the decking is perfect for a cup of tea on a peaceful morning. You can watch the sun come up behind the trees from the dining area. The trees on the neighbouring properties give the garden an oasis feel, without any of the maintenance. Our tiny wildlife pond has been amazing for watching insects, the robins and bats are a joy, and we've even seen the northern lights from the garden in recent years. At lunchtime you can hear the school children playing, and it's such a lovely, happy sound. And if you dig over the soil, the robin will be endlessly entertaining!"

Our agents say...

The hard work has already been done here. The house has a new boiler with a smart thermostat, new windows, new guttering and hard-wearing new flooring throughout the ground floor. That means your weekends go on enjoying the area, not fixing things. Two of the three bedrooms have built-in wardrobes, and there's more storage under the stairs, in the airing cupboard and up in the loft.

Need more room as life changes? The garage offers scope to become extra living space, such as a playroom, home office or snug, subject to the necessary consents.

Mary Stevens Park is a short walk away, with its lake, café, play area, bowling green and community classes. And if you're a foodie, you'll love the New Inn on Cherry Street. It's a dog-friendly local with a garden, real ales, live bands, quiz nights and a rotating line-up of street food vendors. It's close enough to stroll to, without any worries about noise or parking. Stourbridge town centre is within walking distance. Stourbridge Junction has rail links to Birmingham, Worcester and London, and the M5 is within easy reach. Get in touch today and come and meet the neighbours.
