The Building
The Old Chapel belongs to The Towers, built in 1869-70 to the designs of E. L. Stephens, the Borough Surveyor, in a Jacobean Revival style of red brick with stone dressings and steep tiled roofs. The chapel's pointed-arch windows, stone shafts, hood moulds and arch-braced hammer-beam roof earned the building its Grade II listing in 1997. The buildings were later converted into the Grosvenor Gate development, with the chapel becoming a handful of apartments, of which F16 is one.

Location
Grosvenor Gate is reached from Gipsy Lane via Herongate Road, around three miles from Leicester city centre, with the A563 outer ring road close by for the A46, A47 and M1, and regular buses from Gipsy Lane and Uppingham Road. Tesco Extra at Hamilton is about a mile away, with local shops along Uppingham Road and in Humberstone village. Humberstone Park and Humberstone Heights golf course are on the doorstep, and nearby schools include Humberstone Infant and Junior Schools, Merrydale Infant and Junior Schools, and Orchard Mead Academy and Gateway Sixth Form College at Hamilton.
