Description
Property Insight
A charming two-bedroom period terraced cottage, quietly set down a lane in the well-regarded village of Harston, just 3.5 miles south of Cambridge. Full of character across its two floors, the cottage pairs a cosy, nicely presented living space with a practical layout, and is well placed for the city, Addenbrooke’s Hospital and the Biomedical Campus, and the surrounding south Cambridgeshire countryside.
Step inside and you are welcomed into the lounge/dining room, which runs the depth of the ground floor. Wood-effect flooring and walls painted in soft grey tones set the tone, while a cast-iron wood-burning stove sits within a feature fireplace on a stone hearth — a natural focal point and a lovely spot to settle in on a winter evening. Built-in alcove shelving provides display and storage, the staircase rises from the room, and a part-glazed door opens out to the entrance porch that leads to the front garden, drawing light through to the dining end.
The kitchen sits off the living space in a galley arrangement, with cream shaker-style units, wood-effect worktops, a gas hob and oven, and space for freestanding appliances.
Upstairs are two bedrooms: a comfortable main double, and a second single currently arranged as a study/dressing room — a flexible space for those working from home. The family bathroom completes the first floor, with a bath and shower over, pedestal basin and WC.
Outside, the enclosed front garden has been kept deliberately low-maintenance, laid mainly to gravel with an area of artificial lawn, timber fencing to the boundaries, and space for a table and seating — an easy, private spot to sit out, with mature planting adding a softer edge.
